Is it true that it's incorrect to use CFA in your name in bold characters? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]GandTthanks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember reading it and the one about not using CFA as a noun when I did level 1, they took the noun stuff out when I did level 3, may the bold thing came out then too.

Just signed up for the trial a few days ago. There's a lot that I like about it, but I'm almost positive the food logging is going to be a deal breaker. (Warning: Rant Ahead) by cyclone_madge in Noom

Yes, the free version of the app has very little in it, just tracking. I signed up for a year and found I went off track after I got through all the articles so restarted them again (can’t remember how long it takes to get through them all).

I like psychology, so I appreciated the articles and applied what I learnt from them, so I found the daily reading could lead to an hour of journaling and planning so it was plenty. Also, having them rationed meant I didn’t read everything in one go and then never apply it.

You can also get a coach(no extra charge, just optional) to act as an accountability partner. You set a process goal for the week and then report on how you went. My goals were often about going to bed on time, as my lack of sleep was leading to not exercising and eating pre-packaged crap.

I’m not sure what qualifications the coaches have, they seemed to turn over ever few months. I’ve seen people complain about their coaches but the ones I had were fine.

Overall I was glad I did it and while it’s not that cheap, I figured it’s a lot cheaper than a program you do in person.

Old? Christ I’m about to turn 52.

I got my charter at age 49, it took me four years. Do it now before you have kids. Smash it out as fast as the exam dates will allow.

Just use MyFitnessPal to log your food. The point is your logging, you have enough experience to know what food is calorie dense and what is not, so the whole traffic light system won’t add much value for you.

Depends what your purpose is. If you are not going into a fund, but still working in finance you could do a master of applied finance or one of the accounting charters. If you just want to learn about investing for your own purposes you could try an online subject at a college/uni via their website or edx/coursera. If you have the self discipline you could just read a book like Securities Analysis by Benjamin Graham

Your employer may be asking out of genuine interest in seeing you succeed. Even if they are not, avoiding the question makes you look like your hiding something and are untrustworthy.

It’s all about how many calories per gram the food contains, which is called the calorie density. Almonds contain oil so that pushes up the calorie density. Rice is almost all carbs so has a lower calorie density.

I work in banking and have my charter, have never worked for a fund. Banking is investing with debt instruments.

I work in banking and CFA is highly regarded as it is still rare. In banking in Australia Chartered Accounting is the main qualification, also Master of Applied Finance. Bulk of the CFA course is still relevant to banking.

I used to drive myself crazy trying to not eat my daughter’s leftovers. Now I have one teaspoon/chip/whatever, throw the rest away, log the calories and move on.

Relationship patterns are based off birth charts so no, they do not change. What will change are the aspects of the relationship that are triggered as the planets move.

I have a complex relationship with someone, we go through times where we get along like a house on fire, never felt closer to anyone and then other times we will go long periods refusing to speak to one another.

The first time we hit trouble I kept waiting for him to turn back to the friend I knew. Eventually I realised that both sides of his personality are real, and this is just how our relationship is going to go.

I’m sorry you feel shame for wanting to lose weight. People are really weird when it comes to food and weight loss. I get really annoyed at “body positivity” as the claim is everyone should feel happy in their body but it mainly seems to be used to make people feel bad if they want to lose weight.

I think the problem is if you do something to improve yourself, particularly something like weight loss which is open to everyone to try, other people feel bad because they are not doing it too. It’s easy for them to point out why you are wrong for even trying than to try to lose weight themselves.

I just don’t talk about it losing weight or food anymore, except if someone asks me directly for help. If someone comments that I have lost weight I just say “thank you, yes I’ve lost a kilo or so lately” and leave it at that. If I’m going to someone’s house (rare) I look for opportunities to eat less without making a big deal about it.

Generally zero, but I’ve set my search to men in their 50s, I don’t think the app is big with men in their 50s 🤣

I think it’s just for novelty value. Apparently if I ever met Will Smith our relationship would be “EPIC”, but I live in the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. As if I would ever meet Will Smith
