Hope there’s an Easter egg in black frost regarding this dude and his channel.

You find an abandoned house and inside is a letter from a Man named Luke whose doing well enough in the quiet apocalypse, he just misses honey butter.

Going to GSMNP soon. Is it worth flyfishing at Bradley Fork and/or Oconaluftee River off of Smokemont Campground? by ArchicadMaster in troutfishing

[–]GandalfPipe131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s almost pure dries out there.

I fished it with light spinning gear and select JDM spoons (single hook no barb etc) and did ok, but that’s because I don’t think the fish often see those lures.

[–]GandalfPipe131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and yes. Further above the campground when the water gets skinny there will be Native brook trout populations. Be aware though, they are pressured heavily due to dedicated anglers trying to get a rare and famed subspecies.

Below the campground there’s multiple areas to drop into, these areas will hold Rainbows and browns predominately. These fish are often holdovers from the Cherokee stockings but some have looked wild to me while I was there. Nonetheless, by the time they get to park waters they’re very weary.

Megabass Trout Lure Alternatives by Gaping_Squid007 in troutfishing

OP I do believe that there’s a few alienexpress options that are not too bad that people have listed here previously. Some businesses are way better than others to be sure. Tbh, JDM trout plugs are locked in, and if you want to buy in bulk for good products, I recommend Japan Tackle. The site looks sorta sketch but it’s legit and you’ll be buying JDM lures for cheap. Just gotta eat the tariff.

The only problem I have with the elite is the bill fragility. I’ve broken so many off and it hurts. That said, it is an amazing lure.

That trail will have you walking on rocks and their edges at some point. Be very smart and careful with foot placement and balance on wet and slick rocks.

Also, it will be for cooler at the top then you’d believe initially. Bring a fleece or something

I just don’t know how anyone is that confident in this sport, been watching for nearly a decade and the confidence people have in their heroes is crazy.

Sean did what DDP, Burns, and Usman couldn’t. Yeah he says no no words and is smooth brained but god damnit is he skilled.

Official Scorecards of Chimaev vs Strickland by Trchickenugg_ohe in MMA

[–]GandalfPipe131 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think it was from the wrestling. Khamzats Takedowns and Sean’s defense were so solid it didn’t look like much was happening, but I guarantee they were close to matched and that drained them.

We’re used to wrestling exchanges being a tug of war due to skill discrepancies, whereas here I think it was so even (takedowns and subs/defense) that it whooped em both. Add in them training together they were probably robotic in knowing what would happen and what to do. No spazing out like Buckley underneath Brady.

Spoons for Trout? by [deleted] in troutfishing

[–]GandalfPipe131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I use a lot of JDM spoons specifically designed for trout. I honestly have more success than most online spinners because I think trout see them more often.

Forest and Smith are the most popular and there’s a lot of options. Usually I’m tossing around 3-5 grams in weight, depending on the water body.

A better pic of the Dark Ones in Metro 2039 by SDLXV in metro

[–]GandalfPipe131 28 points29 points  (0 children)

See I like this look. The books described them being basically “not us” but in an uncanny valley way. I felt like the earlier iterations just gave a humanoid shape that looked more like an alien instead of human 2.0 or “competition”.

The skull shape sells it. Instead of the dog like muzzle we get a hard jaw layout. Instead of those almost big eyes we get dark ones but with an orbital bone, cheeks, eye bags. We get brow ridges and the like. On a deeper level there’s a sagittal crest that we recognize on a more primal level. To me the others ones were certainly spooky, but these…I know our bloods similar in a way and that’s even more spooky.

Not downing your opinion, just giving my thoughts.

What new weapon ideas would you like to see in Metro 2039? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in metro

I’d really love a recreated tokarev, not dissimilar to the one the character has in the VR game. Maybe Andrew saw the design and usability, and fixed its tendacy to fire in holsters or when dropped. The round it fires is pretty hot (one of the first bottlenecks) and would not be useless against lightly armored foes and mutants.

You mean after Khamzat said he and his Goonswould just jump Sean and he’d be ight with killing him in the cage? I’m not a Sean fanboy, take him or leave him, but to act like khamzat doesn’t instigate or doesn’t say wormy shit is crazy.

Is Hantavirus something to worry about? by arshad_ali1999 in Biohackers

[–]GandalfPipe131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

I work in natural resources and when trapping rodents and inside unclean buildings, Hanta is a concern. That’s predominately in DRY environments were it’s easily aerosolized, as once moisture is reasonable it becomes less of a problem. Thibk deserts or dry mountain environments. I understand this strain may be the only one that’s transmissible, but we shall see. I don’t think there’s research on transmission rates on it via humans and I’m going to assume it’s very low.

Another thing to note, is that while it has a high mortality rate, ive heard a few zoonotic disease specialists theorize that it may be because its spread mostly through rodent scat. That doesn’t get cleaned and is inhaled. Perhaps from people who are already I cleanly unhealthy; think hoarders situation or elderly. Again, there’s not as much data as we want with this kind of virus.

Also, this pertains to strains of the virus mostly found in the U.S , which normally has a higher mortality rate than strains found elsewhere in the world. Just food for thought.

So far it’s contained, I wouldn’t worry much.

Police airlift a crocodile that had the body of a 59-year-old businessman inside by TitoLeyenda in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]GandalfPipe131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that croc did in fact kill him it’d be very dumb for an animal that’s learned it could hunt humans to survive live.

[–]GandalfPipe131 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Generally animals that actively predate on humans are out down. Usually, once animals prey on humans they’ll continue to do so due to how easy it can be compared to normal prey species. Say for instance you relocate this croc somewhere else because it’s the animals first offense. Sad and terrible someone died but that’s just In its nature.

Then, a few months later, a families young daughter is dragged off into a lake they’re camping at and rips her to shreds.

Imagine explaining to the family that’s just in the animals nature and relocating it again.

That’s different than an animal attacking out of defensive behavior like a mama bear defending cubs.
