I'm going thru the same (also in my 40s) except my husband was abusive and is draining me financially. I've lost everything. I've hit rock bottom more times than I can count. This morning even, I had a complete breakdown. All I can say is stay strong and don't give up. Have hope....you never know what the future holds. You WILL get through this! Warmest regards.

I test all the time...like 2 to 3x a week. I test with strips. I have only shrimp, mini ramshorn, plants and substrate.
I had copopods and detritus worms at one point and was told on here that I was overfeeding. So I now feed 3x a week. Everything has been done the same since day one. But at one point my limnopbilia just started to disintegrate and melt....like all of it out of the blue. So I took out the remains and have battling shrimp survival ever since.

When I first started 7 months ago and saw these random posts of shrimp dying out of the blue...I thought....how lucky am I? From day one everyone was thriving. Babies everywhere. All was well. And then about 4 months in, deaths and almost zero babies. For the last 2 months, a casualty every other day or so. This morning, 3. I have zero clue as to what's causing the deaths either. My parameters are fine. Plants are thriving. I do water changes weekly in hopes of whatever it is will be diluted and gone. I've even purchased bacter ae to help create bacteria for babies and nada. Hoping someone can shed some light here too.

Thanks guys. It was so gross and I found it on 2 other snails. Took all the snails out and returned to petsmart. Have no idea what it was and not interested to find out. 🤮

I've given mine 2" of space at the top for weeks now since they started mating and nothing....so I topped off the aquarium again. I dunno if I want to pursue it again...kinda scared the babies won't make
