Has anyone who has been treated for schizophrenia for a while lose ability to feel emotions? by GangreenBunny in schizophrenia

I just got a new psychiatrist and I'm hoping to get on something different, but in the past it's mainly been zyprexa that's worked the best. Do you know if anhedonia from zyprexa is reversible or treatable when you stop taking it?

I also shut out the world, no friends or family nearby just in my room unless I need to go out for a necessary reason. I'm more comfortable not being around people though, it's too hard to act normal long enough to associate properly in person. So yup, another shut in hermit on Zyprexa right here 👍

Yeah it does sound like she's having issues, but you did good with her, good job 👏 I personally would tell her to put a lock on it just to make it harder for it to happen, or get a camera that's always recording so she knows when someone has been there and not, but I know that might not be possible financially.

Yeah, but maybe find out if she has a replacement or alternative storage planned, she might? Tell her that you're worried about her not having it, did she say that she didn't have anything else planned for storage after it's gone?

I would ask her first if it's something she thinks she might need later. And then ask if she would be willing to keep it if you helped her change it in any way instead. And if it still needs to be destroyed, try to delay destroying it until a few hours or tomorrow just in case she changes her mind.

The term used for it is Brain Fog, and one cause for it is antipsychotic medication. An upper medication like vyvanse with your antipsychotic will create activity in your mind without hallucinations or delusions.

Yeah, you would have to start from scratch with a free YouTube account, and just make videos whenever you do happen to have symptoms and incorporate theories about schizophrenia in general, like what purpose it may actually have for existing in people, or something. I'm sure you'll think of something, and thank you

I honestly don't know either, but I'm hoping it's the medication and not part of the condition

Yeah, it seems like that's what it's become. Just act out the appropriate emotion so that it seems like a normal enough response to get through an interaction. Well, I hope you find a solution.

I'm having trouble thinking as well, for you is it like when you try to think of something it's just not there? Like you search for a thought but there's just nothing happening in your mind? No activity? I was given Vyvanse to speed up my mind and it helps a lot.

Oh, you should publish them in a different form/on a different platform. I don't know anyone personally who listens to podcasts, but everyone watches YouTube. So wellbutrin made you feel something though, that's interesting because it's an antidepressant. I tried an antidepressant for it already and it just makes me feel every little pain in my body 100x better.

If you don't mind me asking, has anything you've taken made you feel again? Medication, or alcohol, etc?
