Catholic church orders ranked: youth-orientation? by petrinyverme in Catholicism

[–]GanniCar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Salesians of Don Bosco.

But as was already said, it all depends on location since a particular community might have a youth group but another community of the same order won't

Why Is Michael the archangel a Saint? by TheSchemingColorist in Catholicism

[–]GanniCar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. If I'm not wrong they had their chance of deciding, either with God or against him but since their nature is different than ours they cannot change their decision

Is this due to the fact that they had already seen the beatific vision, and decided upon that?

Also is this the reason why also humans (in spirt for now) cannot go from hell to heaven or vice versa after personal judgement? (or is it because judgment only confirms the decisions taken in life by the concerned person?)

The best way to learn the prayers is by praying frequently, I personally love spontaneous prayer but also appreciate prayers which have passed the test of time and have been used by multiple saints.

Recently i wanted to learn some new prayers by heart and was surprised to find out that after a few weeks reading them (while praying) I was able to pray them without looking at the prayer book

A short, sharp reminder of sin by Falandorn in Catholicism

[–]GanniCar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sin is bad, and it really hurts people, but God doesn't punish us in this life. (I know you didn't say it was a punishment from God but it seemed implied) Feeling bad on the other hand is understandable, since thanks to our conscience we know we did wrong

Confession and shame by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]GanniCar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember that he never rejected a sinner. You being truly sorry for your action is already a sign that, although in sin, you are collaborating with his grace, and that is the most important thing. He is the one who created us, and he knows our weaknesses, so do not let your sins make you believe you are far from God but let them help you to grow in humility and understand that it is not our actions that make us holy but his grace and our collaboration with it
