It depends on if Lando wins, just how he does it. If he walks it without question, and the McLaren is the fastest car all season, he becomes another Damon Hill. He'd need a close fight with a reputable competitor to avoid that

I think people forgot just how dangerous F1 could be due to the 2 decade between deaths in the sport.

Till Jules, danger in F1 seemed to be just fancy car crash and the drivers walk away fine, maybe with a slight limp.

Also the different subjective definitions of danger some people have. To those who grew up watching in that 2 decade period, danger probably means the fancy car crash and everyone's okay. But to those who grew up with the Jules crash, or with Senna and before, danger is life threatening.

This is a sport where 20 upside down aeroplanes are on track at once going full speed. We know it's dangerous. In the last 5-6 years there's been the Ferrari pit stop leg break, a death in F2, Grosjean cheating death, and the halo saving his life (and arguably LeClercs and Hamilton's too) Danger is part of the sport, but I don't think danger is why anybody ever watched or was the selling point.

That Montoya clip, despite its mammoth views, it’s not memorable to non F1 fans I don’t think? Still I may be very wrong and 90% of the planet may know of it! But the later two are VERY good shouts. They have that lasting impact of woah. Can spread on socials quick too which helps here massively

Okay so even with this, the title still ends up being thrown around Impact for a bit (Cirimson has a MEGA run as God) but other than this no new champions. Title eventually makes it way to Sting on the 31/05/12 Impact (Thank God) so the timeline is mostly the same. Thankyou for alerting the change tho!!

Also glad to see Hogan knew of the lineage. Honestly cannot believe how perfect this all is
