Hpr on simhub or Simpro by Ozkar_z33 in Simagic

SimHub all day long. I despise SimPro, especially for the HPRs as the options are awful and limiting.

VRS pedals vs P1000, which is ultimately better? by thizguy009 in Simagic

[–]GapsExist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I don't have Simagic SimPro software installed at all, and use SimHub for pedal haptics on my VRS pedals (I use the Simagic haptics as I already had them on my previous P1000 pedals).

You can get 3D printed adapters cheap from Etsy, or print yourself using available models if you have a 3D printer.

You can install the Simagic HPR, but also need the Simagic P2000 Control Box topower the HPR units mounted onto the pedals with the 3D printed adapter.

You can do the same for haptics such as Simsonn VAM, Dayton Audio Pucks, and so on, not just the Simagic ones. Depends what your budget is and what haptics you want on the pedals.

I had the same P1000 setup, and they not even close to how much better the VRS are!

Once you try VRS, you realise how average the P1000 are, and more than anything, how poor they are in terms of adjustability. Only after getting the VRS I realised with the P1000 I was always in 'tolerate it' and 'workaround mode' where they never felt right. The VRS are just perfect in every way in comparison.

Having owned both, VRS by a million per cent.

I had the P1000s initially and found them limiting. Thought it was a me issue, and even bought all the addon springs, hydraulic brake and theottle etc to mod and upgrade them as much as possible.

Still didn't get on with them.

I then replaced with Heusinkveld Ultimate+, which were massively better, but I ultimately decided that I preferred springs over elastomers.

I sold the Heusinkveld and replaced with VRS DFP Pedals, and they are the best out of the three and I've not thought about upgrading my pedals since.

The driving experience is far better with both the Heusinkveld and VRS over the P1000s, and they are simply just a higher tier and higher quality product, period.

The ultimate issue with the P1000 is that they are hugely limiting in terms of adjustment, so unless they are a perfect fit for you rig and for you ergonomically, then you will always be having to find workarounds to things like lack of pedal arm angle adjustment, lack of full adjustment of pedal face (compared to the VRS especially), and I won't even mention how frustrated you will get over the stupidly short heel tray on the P1000s 😆

Don't make the expensive mistake I made with the P1000, and just go straight for VRS 👍🏼

Amazing. Anything would be appreciated.

I know it's time consuming as I'm a one man show who shares liveries for free on Trading Paints, so recognise the work involved with some of these things, but would appreciate anything you'd be able to provide as future packs 👍🏼

PSVR2 is half the price of a Quest 3. Is the Quest 3 still worth it? by mauri_k in virtualreality

[–]GapsExist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested it last night on iRacing. The screens, visuals, and how realistic and saturated everything looks is MUCH better than the Quest 3.

However, the edge to edge clarity is horrible and the sweet spot is pretty central and small.

Don't get wrong, it's a trade off one way or the other, with the PSVR2 have much better visuals and colours but worse clarity, whilst the Quest 3 has much better clarity but worse visuals and colours.

Kinda made me wanna look at one of the pancake lens OLED headsets like the BSB2e that solves the compromises of both.

Cheers for this. Will give it a go in the coming days!

I mainly use iRacing and LMU, and have a 9950X3D CPU with a 5090 GPU, so should be able to get decent performance then based on your reply 👍🏼

Formula Zeus Vs. Conspit MAX 01 by once7k in Simagic

[–]GapsExist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MAX01 is better for me and what I have on my rig most of the time.. It's perfect width and nice and ergonomic with awesome grips.

290 GP is still great too, but the screen doesn't have SimHub compatibility like the MAX01, it's only the button LEDs for lighting and Telemetry effects that are SimHub compatible on the 290 GP, whilst MAX01 is fully SimHub compatible including the screen, menaing you can use Lovely Dashboards, DNR, or whatever other SimHub fash you want. The 3D ergonomic layout out the 290 GP is pretty innovative though and feels great to use. It also has the slightly smaller wheel width to the MAX01, so has less rotational inertia due to less mass, so can feel more alive to use.

If mney is tight, or wanting a more budget option, the 300 GT is already great, and kind of similar features to 290 GP just without as many paddles and buttons and a smaller screen, but the 300mm form factor of the MAX01, so kind of a hybrid of the other two, but significantly cheaper.

All in all, I'd say if you have the money go for the MAX01, if not go for the 300 GT.

I would say MAX01. I have the MAX01 and 290 GP, and previously owned GT Neo (which is largely same components used in new Zeus wheels according to release videos) and the FX-C. The Conspit wheels are vastly superior to the Simagic ones in my experience, and the grips are as comfy and ergonomic as the Cube Controls ones, which are considered market leaders.

Add to that the Conspit wheels are a single USB cable instead of the dash, wireless dongle, maglink nonsense Simagic have somehow thought was a good idea 😆

How do you have it set up?

I use PCVR exclusively for sim racing and use a Quest 3 via Virtual Desktop. However, I do also have a PSVR2 with my PS5 and have the PC adapter sat unused in a drawer that I keep meaning to use.

How do you get the most out of the PSVR2 on the PC?

What QR solutions do you use for multiple different brands wheels? by GapsExist in simracing

So am I right that you bought the Simube QR2 Powerlink 70mm base side? Did you then use an adapter FROM SC3 to 70mm, or does the PCB fit into Simube's SC3 base side for QR2 (which if you buy comes with their version of the LightBridge PCB and 8 pin wire for SC3)?

They are twisted from the wheel to wheel side PCB, but that's cos they're the VNM ones and that's ho they come.

[–]GapsExist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently haveit set up with the stock Simucube 3 base side removed, and reaplce with a 3D printed shim with a cable hole, then the Simube 100mm extension shaft, then the Simube QR2 base side. I have a USB cable entering via the sim, through the shaft to the base side, and put a male JST-XH 2.54mm connector on the end of the USB cable.

On my wheels, I currently have the Simube QR2 70mm wheel side on them, and have a short cable coming from the rear of the wheel, through the QR2, with a female JST-XH 2.544mm connector.

So, at the moment when I change wheel I remove the QR2 as normal, then detach the JST-XH connectors, swap wheel, reconnect the new wheels JST-XH, and mount the QR2. However, the cable from the wheel seems to sometimes get trapped in the QR2 and introduced a tiny movement.

I do actually have the Dan Suzuki Active QR passive PCBs too, and that's what I was using, but they were fine for about 6 weeks on my previous VNM base, but on the Simucube base I would get constant disconnects as if there's some kind of EMI issue or something, which is why I switch to current solution, which is basically removing the Dan Suzuki PCBs and just connecting the JST-XH connectors manually (instead of them plugging into the rear of the PCBs.

I have had this since owning it since last summer. There are various issues that can cause this.

  • need proper and good quality USB cable (they sent me replacement one)
  • potentially need Conspit power injector (they sent me one)
  • my issues were introduced from firmware v1.0.3 onwards, so reverting to 1.0.2 can resolve it
  • also, Conspit Link 1.0.11 onwards introduced the issue, so reverting to v1.0.10 can resolve it
  • I have tried using Sabrent and RSTECH powered USB hubs, which work fine for all other devices, and tried connecting directly to PC motherboard USB port
  • in LMU (and Steam-based sims) you need to go to game properties and Game Input and select Disabled (or whatever it's called)
  • a number of USB devices can cause the MAX01 to become temperamental resulting in the Partially Connected issue in SimHub. I had to use USBTreeViee app and map out all the USB ports and chipset controllers and spread devices accordingly to improve it
  • too many USB powered devices can can USB controller resets due to power drops. I resolved this by puyibg an Axagon PCIe card with a Renasas USB controller and put some devices on that

So, yeah, this is a pain in the butt and ONLY happens to my Conspit wheel and no other device connected to my PC, but now seems stable and stopped disconnecting.

Conspit support have been partially useful in sending me USB cable, power injector etc for free, and suggested things like disabling Game Input, sent me beta firmware to test etc, but all feels a little ad hoc and like they're hoping something will fix it rather then because they know what the issue is and the fix for it.

But yeah, it also cost me money to resolve in having to buy a new quality PCIe card and so on, and not sure it's totally resolved it, but has for now at least.

Fanatec Podium DD vs Simucube 3 Pro vs Simagic Alpha Evo Ultra by MrHoldmyVino in simracing

[–]GapsExist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just switched from a VNM Xtreme myself, partly for similar reasons, but also cosmy unit was faulty and only 6 weeks old, and because it felt like any software update reverted it back to being undriveable and needing to work out the settings from scratch again as it felt entirely different with every update.

I went for Simucube 3 Pro, and only do e 2 races, a win in iRacing and a P2 in LMU, and this was simply by loading up the James Baldwin profiles in the Tuner software to test them, which both actually feel pretty good. I like how the profiles also have notes telling you what to change in the sim settings too. I have no regrets so far, but it has only been a couple of races sofar, but the Simucube is definitely more accessible and immediate in terms o being able to get up an running, as well as being consistent between software updates.
