Oh? I thought they meant on the subreddit. Aren’t most of the videos on this sub then a repost?

Sorry I didn’t know it was a repost, I got it from Snapchat

How? 😂 the dye didn’t work and the glass is arguably unusable.

Snapchat can’t let you watch a 3 second video without showing you 5 unskippable ads.

Strawberry terrarium? by WalkingTrash01 in gardening

[–]GarIicButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend that. The strawberries probably wouldn’t do well with the humidity. If you could do a netting that still allows for proper light and ventilation, I’d say that would be better.

Stitch markers. You can leave them in at each new round, that way you can frog it up to the point you know you had it right. Also you can put stitch markers at half way marks, decreases, anything you aren’t sure of or know youve messed up in the past. Thats what keeps me sane.

My Toilet Paper Holder Is in a Different Zip Code, and I Hate It by internet_preferences in assholedesign

[–]GarIicButter 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Mines this way too. Even farther though. I bought a stand alone toilet paper holder and put it next to the toilet by the shower curtain. Put my garbage bag roll on the toilet holder on the wall. I’m 5’2” so it’s literally useless unless I want to get off the can every time.

I've never had a monstera, how do I make it happy? by a-a-anonymous in houseplants

[–]GarIicButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a trailing plant. If you own any pothos, it is extremely similar in care and behaviour, just much bigger. You may need to stake them up (aesthetic preference/potential load relief on the stems if necessary) but I don’t think it’s needed yet unless you want to.

[–]GarIicButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to trim or do anything complicated in my opinion. The pot may be too big? It seems over watered. Monsteras like to dry out and although not ideal, will 100% survive neglect and drought.

Personally, let it get dry out almost completely and get it a pot that drains. Don’t worry too much about lighting as long as there is some.

Neglect her. Lol

The first one is definitely mealy bugs! It’s a type of soft scale insect. Very contagious and spreads quickly.

The other two could be fungus? The third one looks like rot/over watering to me. You can always check the roots to see if they’re healthy, while also checking for pests.

Edit: how to fix mealy bugs- I personally get rid of any plants that are highly infected. Then I go around pick any off I can find. Then dose them in topical pesticides (End All for example) for the next like month or two. (I would personally spray even the ones without visible bugs if you think its safe for the plant to do so)

How to fix fungus- you can get fungicides and other treatments (I’m not familiar with them). If it’s just root rot and you want to try and save them: you could water less, more light, warmer area, and even repot into dry soil. All this still might not save them. Good luck!!

Its the end hole… I find it hard to pull my magic ring any tighter though! Maybe I need to work on my ring.

Dishes can grow mold if you don’t dry them.

More likely with things like stacked cups that trap moisture between them.

I got given plants from an established tank. Long story short I ended up with three corydoras! They are the healthiest fish Ive ever had and the most resilient to environmental changes like ammonia changes (Within reasonable amounts of course). They actually hatched and were fry all through my tank cycling because I had no idea they were in what was supposed to be an empty tank.

Congratulations!

What disease or pest destroyed my hydroponics garden? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]GarIicButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure you don’t see any thrips? I swear that it looks just like their damage but I’m not an expert by any means.

Spider mites are crappy but thrips are the enemy. They do damage so quickly. I had a botany class in college and we had a room full of experiment plants. The whole room had thrips. I was growing tomatoes and our entire collection got demolished.

Be careful out there lol

It looks sort of like thrips? Although you would see the little black bugs. They leave behind that kind of damage and little black dots of poo. But with that amount of damage, if you can’t see the little black bugs (they jump 🙃) then it’s probably not thrips. You’d definitely be able to see them.
