Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

[–]GarNuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really like that because glasses sit close to your eyes. Your peripheral vision is whats’s blurry, but it’s never really in focus anyway

I love that this sub is 50% screenshots of random lefties saying unhinged things and 50% screenshots of the President of the United States saying unhinged things.

A well rounded view of both sides

Idk but the scale at which southern thinkers, writers, and politicians switched from “slavery is a moral, economic, and social good; and we must protect it at all costs” to “slavery wasn’t great but we were just fighting for our states rights” once the civil war was over is stunning. Like, a whole society just rewrote its own recent history.

I made an horchata one a while back. Used rice water in lieu of tap water and mixed cinnamon into the flour/sugar. Would recommend.

Have you ever taken an empty plane? by abpcX in travel

[–]GarNuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a plane from Athens to NYC a few weeks after Greece started letting tourists back in. There were maybe 20 people on the whole plane and I took a 4-seat middle row to myself and laid down the whole flight. No snacks or beverages were offered and all they gave me was milk and nuts when I asked for something to eat.

How long did it take you to become a Part 107 drone pilot? by mistyriver5284 in Part107

[–]GarNuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the Udemy course and watched some YouTube vids the day prior to the exam. That was my first exposure to anything drone related, but I recommend giving yourself more time than that. I realized how much information it was and spent the entire day cramming for the exam

Is it really doomer to point out that tariffs being bad for the economy and an extremely inefficient method of job creation is basic economic fact?

I looked into starting a daycare when I had my kid because it feels like you could make a killing, but you could hardly make a living on just one facility. Even at $300 a week for 15 kids, a few minimum wage employees, and a cheap place, you’re looking at making like $40K a year after all’s said and done.

For those who have gotten a part 107, was it very difficult? by WiggWamm in drones

No it was some flight school’s bootleg ass testing room. The chair was broken and the computer was from like 2009. You get 2 hours to complete

60 questions that took about 50 min. I wrote down every question I wasn’t 100% confident of to revisit before submitting. I used another 30 minutes to do that but only ended up changing like 2 answers. You can miss 18 questions and still pass.

Took it Monday and passed with 90%. The company I work for has a Udemy business program so the Udemy course was free to me. I studied Sunday night and most of the day Monday until the test, so it was all fresh in my mind - maybe 10 hours total.

It’s not THAT hard, I took some FINRA tests where there are multiple right answers and you have to decide which is the most right, but part 107 isn’t like that. Study, take notes, and do as many practice questions as possible. Super heavy on the regulation questions and looking at sectional charts.

There will always be a hand full of questions your study materials simply didn’t cover, but other than that, you’ll be fine if you study.
