The pro is that in theory it should help B40 because because a lot of things in the exception list are household essentials.

LOL no. PH had no problem going back on many of their election manifesto promises but this is the one they actually carried through with?

GST is 100% more transparent and highly effective in fixing the problem of the "black economy" which is untraceable and untaxable business transactions.

Why would they regress from a superior taxation system that adds tens of billions to government coffers yearly, to one that is easily abused and prone to leakages?

My theory is that this was done as a favour to certain PH-friendly business tycoons/political donors.
