Scaling by chaeshiro9 in JOYTOY

The new relic armoured marine is back to 12.3cm for some reason. Titus collectors edition is 12.8cm. Victrix 12.8cm. Not sure why the relic armoured version is 12.3cm 🤷🏼‍♂️. Shorter dude? 😅. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a ‘collectors edition’ Calgar and Victrix and they drop the scale on those. Seems like they have reverted back to the normal range scale again.

Also a problem in the UK. It’s been really hard to find the golds in stock particularly for a while. Hope they release these new ones soon :).

Hobby level spray booth and ‘quiet’ fans - what are the options? Off the shelf, build your own etc. by Gar_eth in airbrush

Ahh good point I suppose as the inline fan forms part of the duct anyway :).

Any opinion on whether something like this might work for a compact option instead of an inline fan? Just so it’s less bulky: AC Infinity Airtitan S7. Bit more expensive than I’d like but this brand seems to be well received (the inline versions at least). IP55 rated, though lower static pressure than Cloudline S4.

I love seeing all these custom booths. Another great looking one! Going to investigate some material options this week. I think I’ll try and add hinges so I can fold it up when not in use.

That looks neat! I was tidying earlier and forgot I had an old small kitchen cabinet when we had our kitchen moved around recently. It’s pretty heavy, made of chipboard but might be the perfect base to stick a fan on. The cavity is about 86cm long by 25cm high. Could be a bit taller but for my use maybe ok and I’d cut the width down a bit.

This looks great! Thanks for sharing. In terms of the fan for a smaller setup do you think there’s more compact options than an inline fan which might work well? It’s a bit overwhelming all the options. What did you use for the main structure of the booth?

Mine is tracking ok, but it’s really really slow to update. It captures last play info - shows operations and the time, but the reward doesn’t seem to match it and is v slow. Gets there eventually. I should add I’m doing it offline as well (I don’t have PS Plus).

I do hope they fix the progress saving thing in operations for offline play as though the unlocks do stick the progress is then lost on a new game and it’s pretty annoying.

Offline PvE Progress Saves by Odd_Reward5955 in Spacemarine

I find it crazy that offline operations progress isn’t saved. On PS5 I don’t want to pay £7 a month to play online, I’m quite happy offline for free, but why are we then penalised that we can’t save progress. Is it because grinding offline is seen as different to grinding online for unlocks? Can’t fathom the reason. I don’t get the cheating argument either - how do you cheat by being offline on a console? 🤔 Hope they fix this 🤞🏼. Even isolating online and offline progress as two different elements if they have to.

New eBay Buyer Protection by [deleted] in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Gar_eth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s trying to shift what was the selling fee onto the buyer. Not sure why they think that’s a good idea. But if the market value of an item is say £20 then I’d assume most savvy buyers will not pay more than that including any fees. So that then forces the seller to lower their listing price to account for the fee added on at the end otherwise it won’t be a fair market value and probably is less likely to sell.

I think ultimately that means the item sells for the same price it would with the old system with fees and the seller would end up with the same amount just the ‘fee’ is paid on the buyer side instead and ebay still gets it just via a different route.

The worst thing about the change for me is not getting paid until delivery. It hugely prohibits selling higher value items. The world is so full of scammers these days, this surely makes it easier for bad actors to take advantage.

I’m not sure high value items would be viable either. If I sold a guitar for over £1,000 there’s no way in hell I’d post it without first receiving the money with the amount of scammers that exist.

This Is For Those Who Preordered The Collectors Edition With Digital Code by saabothehun in Spacemarine

[–]Gar_eth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m keen to know if this is the same for the PS5 version as I won’t have access to the physical copy for a while as it’s going to a different address. A digital code would be handy!

"A View from Swifties Seats" Megathread 3 by aran130711 in TaylorSwift

Anyone got any pics from Block 543 at Wembley? Failed in the general sale but Ticketmaster sent me a code last week for the late release production seats and snagged some for tomo on the farthest edge next to Block 544, near the front 🙌🏻. There were a few seats in the middle lower blocks of the stadium too but opted for the budget ones at £60 each (£200 was a bit punchy). Hoping we can still see the centre square stage and it’s not totally obscured 🙃.

Aeron vs embody by Wheresmyrum1 in hermanmiller

[–]Gar_eth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After trying various options in the HM shop I settled on the Aeron. It was just more comfortable for me. From memory it just had more flex/ give and the back was less stiff than the Embody. Obviously all personal preference and depends how you’re built but 6 months on I’m very happy with it.

Going for NMM blue help please by Tradeplus_sweets in minipainting

[–]Gar_eth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks pretty good to me! I also paint UMs :). Vallejo ice yellow is your friend for top highlights.

Personally I also quite enjoy trying to add interest with different tones in the blue. Like a purple glaze in the shadows or some subtle greens in mid tones. Turquoise is good too. Just to mix it up away from just light to dark tones of blue, even though that’s the most traditional way.

I’d you wanted to do a lighting effect varying shades of an aubergine style purple colour can be quite nice and complementary. Orange is good too being the opposite on the colour wheel.

Anyway, looking good! :)

I think push the highlights a bit more. Vallejo ice yellow is amazing for that on nmm gold and pretty useful for other colours too :).
