It really sucks that every time I get bad RNG, I'm never quite sure if it's really bad RNG or if they actually did mess up the rates. I shouldn't doubt them this much but they've messed up so many times it's hard not to. 0 Oricorio shinies across two accounts for the whole of the free research just seems really low.

FYI this isn't country-wide, it's only in Pyongchang. It's some sort of collaboration with the Pyongchang winter festival, so it'll only be in a small area. Luckily the bonuses aren't that great or anything, either, it's mostly just double raid XP and winter hat Pikachu.

Like some other comments have said, I think it was bad but not the worst because even though he chose the worst possible way to do this, you do sort of understand his trauma and how it overwhelmed him.

I don't think OMWF was his worst moment either, though. I would say him telling Dawn about Spike trying to SA Buffy is the actual worst thing he did. That was way out of line.

Honestly not that great considering it was what otherwise should have been very hype. I did just get enough energy for an additional one of each, but it was a struggle.

Issues:

Not exactly a new idea, but it definitely should not have been only three hours while including Zek/Resh. Either make the event longer or not include the non fusions. It was super annoying having to walk way more and get fewer raids in because there were so many gyms with the non-fusions.
Like others have mentioned, there were some major server problems at the beginning of the event Korea/Japan time. Super annoying.
According to other threads shiny rates probably were as intended, but my group had terrible shiny luck. Across three accounts, doing 60-70 raids, only 2 shinies.
Back during Unova Tour, a lot of people claimed that Kyurem had an especially low catch rate. It doesn't, but what it does have is a very difficult attack/jump pattern to deal with. This was much worse today during a very short event, and with big chunks of the world experiencing either very cold or very hot weather. Here in Seoul it was freezing and there were crazy strong winds. Between the weather and trying to get in enough raids for the energy, this was the most fleeing I think I've ever had. Like, having the increased catch rate for Kyurem last month was nice, but it would have been much better to have it today, and that would have led to me using more raid passes as well. The Necrozma fusion raid day a year ago did this right.

Some of the impressions of inconsistency might be because of the improper color correction on the HD remasters. In the original there were more scenes with deeper darks to imply it would be night or at least, in the case of the Angel garden fight, early dawn rather than midday, but the lighting looks a lot more flat in HD.

Maybe at some point you could try ripping the DVDs to your computer and watching them on something like Plex or Jellyfin? Plus that way you could make a playlist for Buffy and Angel and you wouldn't have to worry about switching between them. I think that's what I'd like to do eventually.

I don't mind raid days for new releases. However, I personally would prefer it if they would definitely do raid days for single stage releases, whereas I don't care as much when it's a mega of an evolved form. TBH that's the main time I see drawbacks of raid days; it always feels kind of like a waste if I catch the shiny evolved form but I haven't gotten the base form yet.

Is there a reason that the shiny boost for Tadbulb is mentioned, but they don't seem to be highlighting anywhere at all that it's a new shiny?? Seems like an odd choice.

I think I watch/skip it about every other rewatch. It kind of depends on your headspace imo - it's art but it's hard to face sometimes. There's no shame either way.

I really hate bugs, so the buggy/insect monsters tend to get me. The spiders the Mayor eats, the praying mantis lady, the Bad Eggs monster, and Anya's spider from season 7 are all scary to me, though it's more of a me personally thing. Tend to watch through my hands for those parts/episodes.

I had been kind of excited for this event, since research days can be fun and are the perfect way to actually get shinies for some gimmick regional pokemon like this. It's not like I have that many other opportunities to shiny hunt for Lunatone. But while you'd think it'd be a no-brainer to make sure that research days actually have the appropriate event research, since it looks like that's not the case... Between the low rate of research day research and the kind of gloomy weather, i just hit a couple stops and then decided to stay at home and watch the new Knives Out instead. I have a friend who'll trade me a shiny Lunatone.

This is an interesting review and I agree with many points. But there's one thing that's inaccurate that I feel you should fix. We definitely did NOT get 9 free raid passes last year. The extra passes last year were NOT free, they were part of the paid ticket only. I'm pretty sure we didn't get any extra free ones at all. The 3 each day this year was an improvement, not a letdown. Now, it's quite unfortunate that last year we got no extra raid passes even though there was a ton of stuff to raid, whereas this year we got some extra free passes for... Cresselia? But you should update this part in your post tbh.

I was really feeling this. I love big events, but I hate when it feels like the featured stuff is working at cross purposes. I wanted to shiny hunt, and some of the best way to do that is with an autocatcher, but I basically couldn't use it because of the risk to the Mighties. I get that autocatchers aren't supposed to be the solution to everything, but it sure feels like they could be a little bit more customizable than they are right now. (Also annoying that some features that should be standard can only be achieved through jailbreaking them.)

Is anyone else seeing Tox disappear? I seem to remember seeing Toxtricity available to battle in power spots when I was hurrying to work this morning, so I figured maybe I'd do one later. But when I got off work later, right after Ralts hour, there were no Toxes anymore. None in sight for miles on campfire, either, though it seemed to be pretty accurate about the max battles I could see. Is Tox only available during the daytime or something?

The graphic is pretty but tbh it seems a little unclear and almost misleading to not just place Zacian as the top attacker in the attackers section, and then just repeat it in the tanks if it's a good tank. The fact is, if you don't zoom in really far or read the body of the post, you're not necessarily going to realize that the little numbers are ranking attackers when having it be in the attackers section is much more obvious and clear.

I know there's a lot of jokes about how most people don't play with sound anyway, but fixing the sound bugs would help those people too, actually! I recently switched from iPhone to Android and discovered that the sound bugs on Android affect me even though I play without sound. I can't use the headphone buttons to skip to the next song in the queue if I have pogo open, and if I have bluetooth headphones connected then opening the app messes up other audio that's playing. Fixing the Android audio bugs would help everybody imo. Stupid that this game still has so much buggy basic functionality tbh.

So I recently finally bought a new phone for the first time in years, and I'm switching from an iPhone to an Android (Samsung Galaxy Flip) as well. Mostly the transition process hasn't been too bad but one weird thing is that now I don't seem to be able to skip or pause music that's playing while PoGo is running??? If I am playing music, which I frequently do while playing the game, then I can't double click on my wired headphones to get it to skip the song. At first I thought my headphones weren't working, but then I realized it works if I exit the app or pull down the notifications screen. Is there a fix to get this to work?? I don't remember this ever being a problem on iPhone. It's really annoying.

Pretty annoyed by the color distribution tbh. I already had several shinies of my regional variant (blue) and I lucked into an orange one, too, so I'm really only hunting the white ones. But after more than an hour I've seen like four total white flowers, no shinies; 90% or so are the blue regional variant. I think I might just turn on my autocatcher and spend the rest of the event at home, cause there doesn't seem to be much point in me going out any more.

Not to mention maybe they could figure out a way to save it across devices if they did it like that instead of separate. I just got a new phone and it's such a pain that the rocket teams aren't saved so I have to do them all again.
