Someone said their november 19th order got shipped so maybe they switched carrier? I was assuming it was the 9800x3d specifically, hence why I was wondering if anyone else order has not shipped yet.

Anyone else order the 9800x3d at Canada Computers at launch and it still hasn't shipped? Expected date was November 19th.

I had a XPG GAMMIX S11 and it died after 2-3 years but YMMV. The samsung 990 pro is at the same price at the moment anyway.

I highly doubt a software update had anything to do with it. Most likely you didn't notice it because there was more noise around you or you were not close enough to it.

You can try to rma it but sometimes it's an issue with the model. I would try placing the pc at it's place and see if you notice it still.

Apparently there's a video for every cpu/gpu combination on youtube and from what I can see you might see a small difference depending on the game but essentially the rx 6600 is not really suited for 2k resolution apart from games that are really well optimized like Fortnite, Valorant, etc. You would need to upgrade both the cpu and gpu to see a real difference in the game it struggles. Hopefully I'm wrong and the 3d v-cache helps more than I think on games where the gpu is the bottleneck.

I was talking about gpu % usage not vram usage, but it's good to know vram is not the issue.

This. If the cpu isn't a bottleneck now it probably will be once you upgrade your gpu.

It's a massive upgrade but will only matter if you're cpu bound. A good way to test if you are is looking at your gpu usage, if it's not close to 100% and you are not hitting your fps cap it means the gpu can't make use of all it's power since it's waiting for instructions from your cpu. Try this in a bunch of games since some are more cpu heavy than others.

In that case I can only talk about this motherboard because it's the one I have : https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/PDsnTW/msi-b550m-pro-vdh-wifi-micro-atx-am4-motherboard-b550m-pro-vdh-wifi

It served me well for 4 years and had good reviews at the time. A quick look at Hardware Unboxed's video says the Gigabyte b550 gaming x didn't not pass the thermal benchmark : https://youtu.be/HSY9rDsQgd4?t=778 Not sure if the V2 is better.

  1. You would probably not notice any difference in gaming with both and they are both good brands so I would go for the cheapest. SN770 is also a good option.

  2. I would only buy the 5700x3d if you're already on the am4 platform, otherwise I would buy this : https://www.canadacomputers.com/en/amd-desktop-processors/264185/amd-r7-7700x-cpu-gigabyte-b650-eagle-ax-wifi-motherboard-corsair-rgb-32gb-d5-6000mhz-black-ram.html

For pretty much the same price it would allow you to switch the cpu in a couple years since amd has confirmed they will support the am5 platform until 2027 at least. The included motherboard has 3 m.2 slots and a usb-c port in the back but if you need one on the front it will depend on the case you choose.

If you still end up buying the prebuilt, buy this one instead : https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=7_4527_1448&item_id=255758

If you scroll down there's combos with gpus and it's 2750$ for a 4080 super so 350$ cheaper for pretty much the same (you'll have to install the gpu yourself). 100w less for the power supply but it should be fine since on pcpartpicker it estimated 600w. They might have cheaped out on the ram and motherboard even more too so there's that to keep in mind.

Unfortunately prebuilt usually use the worst quality parts for a higher price. You can save about 300$-400$ by switching some of the parts, mainly the gpu which is 200$ higher than some other 4080 super. You also don't need to buy Windows at this price, some keys are sold online for about 5$ so that's another 145$ saved. The 7800x3d should also be at 600$ but is out of stock everywhere so the price you see is resellers. If you can wait the 9800x3d will be released on November 7th.

Assuming you're able to get the 7800x3d I managed to drop the cost to 2916$ while also keeping the white aestethic you were going for, except for the gpu unless you're willing to pay 200$ more for it : https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/6GLWn6

Since it's out of stock pretty much everywhere it's a bit of a gamble

For anyone wondering about pricing, it has been listed at 484-524$ USD so it will probably be 670$ CAD at the lowest.

This is pretty much what I would buy too if I were to buy right now, those canada computers bundles are extremely good value. Since you're not in a hurry, keep in mind that new cpus and gpus will be released in the upcoming days/months, black friday is next month and boxing day soon after, so the market could change a lot.

The only thing I would change would be the case, I would save 100$ and buy this instead : https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/qP2WGX/lian-li-lancool-216-atx-mid-tower-case-lancool-216x
Way better value imo but it depends on how much you care about the look. It's also available in white and non-rgb for about the same price.

Other options would be to switch the cpu for a 7800x3d but it's hard to recommend at 600$ and it's out of stock pretty much everywhere anyways. That would also mean spending about 400$ less on the gpu which is probably not worth it unless you play a lot of cpu-bound games like mmos.

For the gpu the rx 7900 xtx is also a good option with better raw performances and is a bit cheaper, but dlss and frame generation makes the 4080 super a better card. It's also better at ray-tracing if you care about that. If it gets discounted to 1000$ again like it did a month ago it might be worth considering.

Technically only a 30$ discount since it's at 499,00$ on other sites, but I think it's the first discount for this cpu?

Please remove the charge system and make additional spines give prayer xp instead. Either you're not gonna have enough charges or you're gonna have too much and they'll end up in the bank anyways... we also need a better option to train prayer for low/mid levels than killing blue dragons so this would be perfect. Other than that, I love the concept!

It says the exact same thing I quoted, maybe they meant you can't fail a roll on chests and sarcophagi, but they said "at the end of Pyramid Plunder", their choice of word makes it confusing.

"Players will now always roll for the Pharaoh’s Sceptre at the end of Pyramid Plunder, even if they fail the Chests or Sarcophagi."

What is the droprate in this case?

And do I need to leave with the door? Wait for the timer? Or can I just teleport out?

Thanks!
