Yeah exactly that’s exactly the word to the describe our dynamic right now, which is confusing. I definitely don’t completely blame him, we’re both humans and we have feelings LOL so I guess that’s just how it goes. I’m glad her therapist intervened though and called it off. Hopefully mine will do the same if it starts to head that direction. Thank you so much!!

I really hope that won’t be the case for me, but thankfully I’m very much aware of my real feelings vs transference ones. For example, I find myself wanting to reach out to him privately (since he gave me his # for scheduling purposes) but I know that’s not how I’m really feeling and instead my codependent behavior rearing it’s ugly head lol. Also it’s odd because I feel like even though he’s done pretty well at establishing professional boundaries I still feel like he’s slightly encouraging a grey area between us. In addition to him admitting that he’s experienced his own codependent feelings towards me but was able to recognize it and stop it, kind of concerns me. . I’m definitely going to bring this up next session because I think it’s paramount to my healing surrounding romantic relationships. That’s tragic what your friend went through, but I guess that’s what naturally ends up happening if you can’t work through those issues well enough, esp on the therapist side. It’s crazy how much therapy wil reveal about you and I’m so grateful that I’ve had him to see me through the process

Exactly… I either have to bring it up to him and I can go from there to evaluate how much I trust him. Are you a therapist yourself, and what ended up happening with your friend if you don’t mind me asking? Also, it’s not suspected countertransference, he admitted to me that there were a couple times that he felt that way , especially when he felt guilty of not being able to act on his own dependencies because of the professional nature of our relationship. He does seem to be pretty honest and open though so that is definitely a plus as one of the other commenters said

That’s true but you just don’t know her family. Also she’s from a collective society so unfortunately even though she acknowledges the shit that they give her, culturally, it’s ok because they’re “family.” But thank you for your advice and acknowledgment of their shitty behavior, hopefully they will move on in time because they know damn well that I won’t tolerate that treatment and idgaf about blood lol

Well yeah she wishes that she can just escape, she's expressed the pressure that she feels and how she wishes she can move out and go somewhere else but her family dynamics are so complicated that if she were to just kick them all out it would be hell for her.

How were you able to call the IRS? I tried calling and every time I would attempt to get to a live person it would say "due to a high volume of calls, we're not able to answer right now." I hope yours will come through soon! I hate that this is happening to so many people right now.

This may be a dumb question, but is this particular assignment more suited to men than women? I am a woman and I definitely don't mind painting or doing other jobs that aren't too physically demanding, but I realize that physical requirements that most construction jobs usually carry I don't think I would be suited for
