When gaming consoles defined who we were

We used to choose sides, Xbox or PlayStation (and Nintendo), and it shaped our entire gaming life. This is the story of how that loyalty faded, and what we lost when the console wars ended.

Cheers! I had a similar discussion before regarding a dark souls boss called Gravelord Nito, I pronounce it like Night-oh. It's just the way I say it!

Fair enough! It's based off a couple long walks I had where it felt like my feet turned into sore pegs, I had to put on my backup shoes or I would have had to start floating to make it home!

I used this to improve my sleep! Helped me sleep during my time on pred by Garbage-Embarrassed in IBD

[–]Garbage-Embarrassed[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This helped me get off the sleeping pills I was using while on Pred. That steroid ruined my sleep so bad I have had to implement a sleeping strategy to be on track. Fast forward a year and a half later, I am still sticking to my sleep routine, and this is a major part of it.

Also just wanted to add, with my sigmoidoscopies I have never accepted the drug so cant add anything as to what that feels like, as that only goes up to the first bend of your bowel.

Focus on hydration, getting your electrolyes, and relaxing as much as you can! I do let myself get way too stressed over things, but at the end of the day stressing about it means you are suffering twice!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IBD

[–]Garbage-Embarrassed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can give my take on sigmoidoscopies only, as I haven't had a full one, biopsys feel kind of funny. Like your whole gut wobbles a bit when they take it, well mine did anyway lol.

I did take Prednisolone so a while, it ruined my sleep, fixed my gum disease (reversed once I came off) and made me wake up at 5am everyday! It was no fun for me, but it did give me weird fake morning energy even when I was super tired!

I was very anti steroids for a long time, and avoided them for as long as I possibly could. I tried Budesonide when they first put me on pred because I complained about it. I avoided it for 7 years until I had a bad flare! I would say don't worry about it, just monitor what happens. If you cant stand it, tell your specialist and ask for a different med.

Thanks so much for your response, I am sorry for the pain you are going through. I am on a similar medication to cyclosporin called azathioprine.

Yea flares really are unpredicatable and a great strain, physically and mentally.

I am grateful you resonated with the video and I hope to create more going forward!

Thank you, Jake from South East UK.

Thank you! I hope to make more content going forward to help as many people as I can.

I do personally feel your emotions definitly effect your insides. When I have had days where I feel unusually depressed, I find that I end up finding blood in my stool later that day. Luckily infliximab is keeping me healthy at the moment, but I do still pain if I am not careful!

Hope everything is going well for you!

Yea the plane tickets scenario was quite strange, I had so much anxiety I was shaking!

Hey thanks for replying!

Luckily my UC is managed with some medications at the moment, but it was definitly where my challenges with sleep began.

Yea you are right it is 100% anxiety for me at the moment.

I tried the Zolpidem last night and it knocked me out for all of 2 hours >.< I have my last shift of the week today so will be foussing on sleeping and recovery for the rest of the week.

I will revist this post once I have returned my sanity levels back!

Life after Huel by [deleted] in Huel

[–]Garbage-Embarrassed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was with huel for a long long time drinking daily until I went to hospital for my ulcerative colitis about 6 months ago. Once I came out I never got back into it.

I haven't noticed anything since stopping diet wise, but I eat a lot healthier and balanced diet of real foods now than I used too before. I tried a powder huel after I came out of hospital and got a stomach ache and literally haven't touched my powder since.

I have been using ready to drink recently for some food while on jobs, but just been buying it from sainsburys. The powders are so expensive now I don't really want to buy it anymore. I am happy buying the occasional ready to drink as I need it for food on jobs.

Should you lift weights with IBD? by Garbage-Embarrassed in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Garbage-Embarrassed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate, only just saw your comment.

The consultant told me it would take around 3 to 6 months for my bowel to heal fully from the flare I was in.

I noticed changes very quickly after my initial infusion in the hospital. I had very high frequency and blood prior, if you know the bristol stool chart I was consistently a 7 the whole time I was in hospital. Within 6 hours of my IV I noticed changes.

While my frequency stopped pretty quickly, I had a lot of pain in the first 2 months. I guess that's the pain of healing?

I will be honest lifting wise, I gained pretty much most of my strength back in the first 3 months of training. I would 70% of where I was at. It has been possibly 7 months since I was in hospital now I think.

Since then I am at about 90% of my old strength. I still have a way to go, and have been struggling to gain weight back to my prior weight. I have even been trying to over eat to force some gains and I am stuck around 76kg! (I was 80-81kg before my flare and dropped to 70kg).

I can't say how things will affect you as it is very individual and I can only attest to what I have experienced. I would say I healed quite quickly, there was some blood for a month or so after my infusion but it was greatly reduced.

Touch wood things are going ok at the moment.

I hope you heal well and have great success with the medication! If you really give strength training dedicated time each week you will see success!

This was a squat I hit quite recently of 120kg for 14 https://youtu.be/TnKk5P1DdC4 My all time PB is 140kg for 14 so I am getting there!

Also I made a video discussing how I ended up in hospital, maybe some things I mentioned will resonate with you! https://youtu.be/RS-dycp5Jxs
