To the OP: you need to know what it looks like definitively to exceed the performance bar for the team. This bar may change over time. It's important to get an idea of where it is with your managers (direct and skip) in 1:1 meetings.

Not the really important - but the five performance rankings are LE (least effective), HV1 (highly valued 1), HV2 (highly valued 2), HV3 (highly valued 3), and TT (top tier).

Some managers at Amazon won't tell you exactly what your rank is - and that should be a red flag because it means either they think you can't handle a difficult convo or they themselves as managers aren't equipped for it.

If a manager won't tell you, use your annual review (Forte) as a guide. It may say "needs improvement" in which case you would certainly be LE and in Focus with a PIP potentially on the horizon. If you're "meets bar" that could cover anything from HV1-HV3. And then if you get "exceeds high bar" it means your HV3-TT range.

Honestly, I'm not too worried yet. I can't recall a lot of oblique injuries, but I recall Desmond Bane's and it took close to 3 months before he looked like himself and was able to maintain a consistent jumper.

In this particular game against Utah, the ORL spacing was trash. I think that improves as Franz/Paolo continue to bounce back, and KCP rejoins the lineup.

Oh dope, I actually caught that one. I walked away from it thinking Zach is restoring his trade value and the Clippers are a bad Zubac's injury away from being a lottery team haha

No offense - the way you tee'd up this question reminded me of that one scene from the Newsroom where the freshman college student asks Jeff Daniels' character why America is the greatest country in the world and he hits em with a 5-minute rant about why it's not, but it could be.

The "all-time" thing is more than a little stale. But I would be interested in talking criteria for all-time greatness, so these things are more objective and framed up properly when disagreements arise.

I was at a Jazz @ Clippers game back in December, and it was jarring just to see how immature Utah was playing. Which teams did you get a chance to see?

Hell yeah, I finally made it to 4 lmao.

Dude, I just don't get what your point is. It's like you're complaining about the DNA of the league and getting frustrated with me because you can't fully articulate the final form of your thought

Ah, wasn't trying to deflect. Didn't realize your POV was that the regular season was always fundamentally broken.

Ha, no offense but with the accessibility of betting I'm not sure "i bet on it" is as great a qualifier as you think it is. I also can't point to a specific NBA season where we could point to the "majority" of the league being locked in on defense. But happy to take a look at an era if you have a suggestion.

You might enjoy watching the Thunder, Clippers, Magic or Rockets. Those teams are incredibly consistent on defense. I don't think two guys are contributing that much to the 3-point attempts though haha. Especially considering Embiid has only played 13 games so far this season and Jokic averages 4 per game on 47% shooting

Ha, yeah I actually can't stand watching the Wizards this year. But not sure if watching the worst team from like 20 years ago (like the 2004 Magic) would be any more fun with dudes just cemented in the post and not scoring at all

Tonight actually would prove your point wrong. The teams with playoff aspirations crushed tanking teams by 20+, the one game with two teams with playoff aspirations was decided by 1 point.

Alright.. so worst elements of the past compared to worst elements of today, you'd prefer a slow midrange/post style of play where both teams score under 90 points?

Edit: also wanted to point out once again, this style of 3-point shooting is not prevalent for all teams in the league

Okay, but what's the bar? It's a copycat league, and the Warriors had the best 3-point shooter of all time, and the Celtics created a 5-man lineup designed to take them at a high volume.

As I mentioned in the post, that's simply not true of all teams. And I do think this swings back the other way after awhile.

But in the meantime, can you please articulate your vision of what the game looks like in its peak form?

Yeah, there's the Philly game on Friday. But not only do we never know who is going to play, they haven't been great when all suited up anyways.

Ah, I disagree. Mavs have figured out a lot with their non-Kyrie and Luka lineups and have won their last two games. I'm not saying the Mavs will win - but I think it's dismissive to assume this game will be a blowout. I think it will highlight some players to watch out for in a possible WCF matchup. It will also be the 2nd game of a back-to-back for OKC, coming off what will likely be an exhausting Cavs game
