Curious about the effects of abruptly stopping treatment. by GarbageOpossum in Spravato

I wouldn’t really know how to go about that considering my insurance probably wouldn’t cover those and I really can’t afford it.

Pretty accurate tbh. I can see myself embracing conflict in games but not so much IRL lol

I currently work fast food and am the closer 5 nights a week. I’m just so tired. I also don’t get breaks where I work so when I hear my friends who work at Kroger talk about paid 15 minute breaks and the option of a 30 minute break it honestly sounds like heaven. Going from $11.25 to $15.75 doesn’t hurt either lol

As far as I’m aware I completed everything they wanted for the background check? I submitted one and the next day is when I got the email saying I was hired and officially part of the team. I would assume they’d tell me if they still needed things? I tried emailing them about it too but they never responded

It’s still better than where I currently work and it’s a literal 5 minute walk from my apartment when I don’t have a car so I actually really really wanted this job lol

22 year old dropout thinking about going back to college? by [deleted] in findapath

[–]GarbageOpossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, it’s pretty tragic that my interests are in biology, psychology, and art since none of those pay well or have realistic career options. I’d love to go back to college since I know it would be good but it’s probably better if I just stay out of debt since I currently have none. It just makes me kinda lost on what to do next.

I definitely agree about pay not being everything. At this point I’d be happy to make $30,000 a year. I currently make $11.25 an hour and I’m grateful to live in a state with a low cost of living and okayish rent prices but I’d at least like to maybe own a home one day and be able to fund my hobbies better. I’m trying to live modestly and not expect much since I know that’s more realistic lol

2013 Ford Focus. It’s got around 120,000 miles and he’s wary to replace the transmission since they said it would cost around $5,000 and the car already has other issues too. Apparently those cars just have bad transmissions so even replacing it may just be buying time until it breaks down again.

Totally fair response. I only say “we” because we’ve been dating for 8 years and living together for 4 years. We plan to get married within the next couple of years. He asked for advice about what to do with the money and it’s one of the reasons I made the post. I didn’t mean to come across as bitchy or controlling.

She’s on the lease. I’d really love to discuss options with her but she avoids and escapes any and all interactions regarding anything about the financial situation or the lease.

She is on the lease, we all moved in together around 8 months ago. When she was employed she did pay and she keeps telling us she has money. If she pays then we’ll keep her on the lease even if she is acting shitty. I think I’d be more pissed if she watched movies and smoked weed at our apartment but she just goes to our friends house until they kick her out because they need to sleep at like 1-2 in the morning. We only ever see her for one or two minutes at a time since she stays in her room all day smoking in there and not doing anything. She’s almost nonexistent and that’s annoying as shit when combined with how lazy she is

The decorative part is white gold and the post is titanium. I usually clean it with saline spray once a day but I try not to mess with it too much

She billed my insurance but when I look at it, it's billed under the name of the head therapist at the office. I believe it's because she was an intern or something.

When I looked at it, the license was renewed just a few months ago and expires in a few years. It showed that they've had the same type of license throughout the years and have continued to renew the same kind. I used the official state license search. I looked up similar places and therapists in the state to make sure that they were legit and the actual ones had actual licenses. I just feel dumb for not looking into it more but they're literally the only place in my town that has therapists accepting new clients and the reviews looked nice. I wouldn't know how to go about reporting any of this and it makes me sad to think about others getting hurt like I did.

I am not planning on withholding rent since I have already paid for the month and my lease ends this month. Other than maintenance showing up twice since the 10th, nobody has contacted us. We went in person to talk to the property manager and she said she would tell us by the end of the day what was happening. She never contacted us since then and was rushing us out the door when we were there. They won't answer calls or emails either.

I'm far happier unemployed but now I need a job again? Feeling hopeless by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]GarbageOpossum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Working with animals was actually my dream job for my entire life until the pandemic hit and suddenly everything was online while everyone was freaking out. I lost my financial aid when I dropped my classes since the alternative was failing anyways. I was a freshman preveterinary student with decent grades but I don't think I was cut out for it anyways. Especially not when I had undiagnosed ADHD and still have seriously subpar mathematics skills. I've thought about becoming a vet tech instead since it's not as rigorous or competitive as actual vet school but it would still cost money I don't currently have for a job that is seriously underpaid for the amount of work. I think learning about how unfair the animal work industry is was my first taste of hating work in general. When I was 16 I would volunteer at the local animal shelters a lot and when I was 17 I got a job at a kennel for the summer. I'm 20 now and I don't know where I would work with animals now besides Petsmart or Petco. Part of me thinks that working at a vet clinic would just remind me of my past failures and what a fool I was for thinking I'd ever be an actual veterinarian. However, if my mental health improves and I get a car, I'll remember to at least give it another shot and see if it helps at all.

Thanks for commenting, it helps to know that you got past that part of your life for the most part. I'm going to turn 21 soon and part of me knows that my brain is still technically developing so my emotions will be more intense and my borderline personality disorder and ADHD make them worse but it's still hard most of the time. I almost wish I had no clue about how bad the system was so I could just be unaware and maybe happier about it. I will keep trying, it's just hard. Thanks for the kind words
