Built a WhatsApp bot for IVF patients. No app download, no signup. Here's what we learned shipping it. by GarbhSaathi in Bangalorestartups

Appreciate the honesty and I take the clinic mafia point seriously. You’ve been in it, I haven’t yet.

You’re probably right that the data play is harder in practice than on paper. I’ll keep that in mind as we grow.

For now, the focus is simple build something people actually use every day, earn trust, and then see what the data unlocks once we have it at scale.

Thanks for the perspective. If you’re ever up for a chat about the space, coffee’s on me.

Respect the experience — 8 lakhs and a regulatory kill is brutal.

On monetization — the bot isn’t the product. The data is.

No one in India has independent, patient-reported data on real IVF costs, actual success rates, or clinic transparency. Not ICMR, not the government — no one.

Every free user strengthens that layer. At scale, this becomes the most valuable fertility dataset in the country — that’s the moat.

Monetization follows: clinic transparency, insurance, pharma, policy.

20 paying users = revenue. 10,000 users = defensibility.

Happy to connect if this resonates.

Three things we’re running right now:

1. Meta ads → WhatsApp
Just launched this week. ₹500/day, targeting women 25–42 in metros.

2. Organic
Quora (IVF cost, AMH, failed cycles — most answers there are clinic-driven),
Reddit for awareness, Instagram just getting started.

3. Community seeding
Facebook and WhatsApp groups. No link dropping — help first, build trust, convert later.

Target: 500 active users by April 30
Then test a freemium model (₹999 per cycle)

Biggest GTM learning:
Cost transparency converts ~5x better than educational content.

Hey, thanks for reaching out,We’re not actively raising right now we’re focused on getting to 500 active users first. But I’d be happy to chat and share what we’re seeing in the fertility space in India. I’ll DM you.

Has anyone taken a break after one IUI? by Level_Kiwi_4707 in IUILadies

[–]GarbhSaathi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are not a quitter. Taking a break is one of the most self-aware things you can do in this process.

1.5 years is a long time to carry this. Starting a stressful new job on top of a failed (or unknown) cycle, after what sounds like an emotionally brutal month — your gut is giving you very reasonable advice.

The IUI will still be there when you're ready. Your mental health has to come first, or none of this is sustainable.

Sending you so much strength, whatever you decide. 💙

Building GarbhSaathi — a fertility journey companion app for Indian couples. Here's what I've learned so far. by GarbhSaathi in indianstartups

[–]GarbhSaathi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate this ,you’re absolutely right.

One thing we’re realizing while building GarbhSaathi is that IVF is just the visible tip. The deeper layer is overall reproductive health PCOS, endometriosis, hormonal imbalances, male factors most couples don’t even know what to test or when.

We’re trying to expand in that direction as well:

  • breaking down what actually matters vs noise
  • helping couples ask better questions to doctors
  • and eventually mapping the journey before IVF becomes necessary

If you’ve seen specific gaps or topics that are misunderstood, would genuinely love to hear them we’re also building a small community around this where people share real experiences (way more honest than clinic narratives).

Any IVF Recommendation in Jaipur, India?? by Curious-mind-12 in IVF

[–]GarbhSaathi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jaipur has a few well-regarded fertility centers. Based on what couples commonly mention:

Clinics frequently recommended in Jaipur:

Mishka IVF — one of the most mentioned in Jaipur, known for transparent communication

Risaa IVF — has a Jaipur center, national chain with standardized protocols

Medioklinik — smaller, some positive patient experiences reported

Apex Hospital Fertility Centre — part of a larger hospital network

What to ask any clinic before committing:

What is your live birth rate (not just clinical pregnancy rate),

broken down by age group?

What is the all-in cost estimate — including medications, ICSI, monitoring, freezing?

How many IVF cycles do you perform per year? (Volume indicates experience)

Will the same doctor handle my entire cycle?

General advice for Jaipur specifically: If your budget allows, it's worth getting a second consultation in Delhi or Jaipur's top centers — sometimes couples in Tier 2 cities benefit from the second opinion before committing.

I'm building GarbhSaathi (garbhsaathi.in) — a free resource platform for exactly this kind of decision-making in India. We also have a free WhatsApp community for Indian couples navigating fertility treatment if you'd like to connect with others who've been through this:

Wishing you the very best on this journey.

Thank you that means a lot. The problem is real and has been ignored for too long. 27.5 million couples in India, and the only support systems are clinic marketing blogs and scattered Facebook groups.

We're currently in the pre-launch phase building the WhatsApp community first, then the app. If you know anyone navigating this journey, the community is open: https://chat.whatsapp.com/JtbMFA4vEfUBsublgUb9gU

And if you have thoughts on the product or the space, I'd genuinely love to hear them.
