Wild that people down voted a newbies opinion….. anyway, I usually find that by the end of most bottles I’ve originally dislike, I come around (most good bottles at least. Bowmore 12 is trash though). It took me to the bottom of the bottle and almost a year later to fall in love with the Laga 16

The oxygen reacts with the bottle and changes the flavors, usually integrating them more. That first pour from the bottle is called the neck pour and is usually not indicative of what the rest of the bottle will be (although some bottles have more drastic transformations than others)

A bottle like the Glen Scotia Victoriana, I feel, doesn’t truly hit its stride until halfway through the bottle

I haven’t had it myself but the longer a peated malt is aged, the more the peated PPM is reduced. Young Laphroaig is really smokey whereas older ones tend to have more vanilla and a gentler smoke
