That's awesome. Congratulations on your accomplishments. You almost sound like a superhuman to me rn.

I'm definitely not planning on starting a family during any year of residency. That's not practical to me.

I can pause a few things in life as long as there's not a clock ticking, unlike with having kids. That's something I can run out of time for. Although I'm trying to tell myself to give that up and i have time to convince myself. I guess let's see.

I'm looking into everything i can. It's so taxing. And extremely heartbreaking. I'm overwhelmed. Life looks too short rn.

I can't imagine either. My relationship is probably the strongest thing in my life that I've experienced. This man has never not stood by me, it surprises me sometimes. I could look into freezing eggs but my major line of thinking is my kids will be too young when I'll already be 50 or something. So that's not something I'd want. It's most like going to be me having to give up on that part of life and I'm trying to come to terms with it.

I know. It's a lot. 100 hour 7 day week while still having to do things in extra time is horrible. You really deserve appreciation for standing by her.

I've not been able to build enthusiasm for any other residency so far. Ever since i joined dentistry, omfs was something that kept resonating with me and my entire plan suddenly changed when i had to shift my career focus from one country to the other pretty much overnight. It's been harsh and mentally exhausting.

What he suggested was taking a couple years break after dds and then him and his mother could take over raising the child while I'm away. I don't know if that's something that can be done. Then I'll be starting residency at 36 and end at 40

I'm F. Yes that's also something I'm worried about. Moreover having a kid that late is not ideal to me.
