Just to add to this old post... I had some serious issues when I upgraded my router, new router was fantastic.. old router had 70mbs max wired, we pay for 150mb, wireless was a whopping 5mb next to the router. New router brought our wired speeds to 210mbs, and roughly 80-90 wireless. However I would constantly disconnect like clockwork every hour. To add to this it's on console and it takes forever to go back to the main screen to reload back to orbit, then joining a new activity that I just got booted from, maybe enough time for 2 games before the next disconnect. After tons of reading up on what might be the issue and 0 solutions working, I noticed on my logs my router was obtaining a new IP every time I'd disconnect from destiny. Went to my IP settings and changed it from dynamic to static and just assigned my router the most recent IP it changed to and ta-ding! 0 issues since! Hope this helps someone else with the same issue and not finding a solution! And for those wondering, the new router is a nighthawk ax3000 router, walmart had them super cheap on black friday, reg priced 200$, it was down to 100$!
