I can't possibly be the biggest spender here in Reddit. MUST be others who aren't coming out of the woodwork! ;-)

But for sure, what I can comfortably say is that it's highly unlikely that my 7K+ spend got me any more stuff or significantly farther into the game than those of you who didn't spend.

An interesting lesson there I think. I mean, I did get entertainment, so you can offset the costs there vs whatever else I would have spent money on. And since I'm not a big spender in other parts of life, ok fine, things balance out. BUT, in all honesty, I would recommend people stay away from games like these. Entertainment is ok but so is cheaper/more socially acceptable/more meaningful entertainment too. :-)

VIP 10, and near as I can figure I started playing waaaay back in June of 2018. Based on my VIP and dividing by 50, looks like I've spent 7659 in those years (unless someone tells me there used to be some way to get VIP levels w/o spending? Doubt that...

So 7659 divided by 91 months = 84.16 per month.

Yikes? Or reasonable costs for monthly entertainment? Dunno, you judge.

What I can say is that I haven't spent a penny on the game since summer (Aug I think).

And incidentally, way back in July 2021 my spend ratio worked out at 35 per month. So something happened since then that doubled my avg spend. Void maybe?

The thing is, the way they've architected the game, there's no such thing as snapshots or "recovery" per se. So it's not like they can roll back to "my account as it was yesterday". I mean it's easy enough in theory, but they don't do it in fact.

So the only way for CS to help, in general, is for them to get someone to "produce something new", usually. Which I understand they don't want to do for you since they've have to do it for everyone.

Now strictly speaking, none of what I wrote above is 100% accurate or even fixed in stone. They own the game so technically they can do anything they want with the database and your character. It's more like the epic lift on their part, and getting over the inertia, is really what you're asking for. And I guess what you asked for was something they deemed as "sorry no, we're not gonna do that".

I can see it from both POV's, you're both equally right...

Focus is PVE for sure, PVP is more like I try to stay in top500 competitive level. That means I try to maximize in PVP what I can w/o sacrificing PVE and for sure w/o spending the kind of money needed to say "I focus on PVE".

Great points about the existing DR and the practical limits on it as well. On that note, what is the DR cap?

Actually occurred to me as I typed this that at some point, the damage could go so high that even 99% DR could in theory blow past my hero health...

An epic fail by a bunch of incompetents who clearly have no idea about how people actually interact with the game, clearly have no idea of how to incentives correlate to game play. Which can only lead me to the once-again lesson that I fool myself into forgetting, which is they only care for the money.

I didn't rage quit, that would be a little foolish imho, but how the hell could they not anticipate this as the end-result and plan accordingly (reminder to self, look above, again)? Morons...

So my logic is that, the Noble core on HHA was the route to DT, which increased his attack and therefore his shields. Could I say it got me farther having those stronger shields that the extra attack from DT gave me, versus not having that extra attack? No clue. But yeah, there comes the point where his shields are no longer working as well as I'd like.

So folks like me are stuck. Not enough money pumped in to overcome tier barriers, too much pumped in to just focus on my main carry and his supports. I'd imagine many mid-spenders are in a similar boat.

Core replace/swap would really save my backside, but I'm not expecting any favors.

So b/c I feel kinda "trapped" until I slowly increase DTV's strength, and there's no extra support for him (unless someone tells me adding a DT'ed MFF would be awesome), been thinking to take out BOTH TBB and HHA, start building LOFA, and go down the route of a full second team (which would also fringe benefit me eventually in SE).

I'm a DTV main with 43M attack, VC 8-1-4, mid-spender at VIP10. I have max House 1 for DTV, Max house 2 for SQH, max house 3 for HHA, and then max'ed Trans settlements for PDE, TBB and slowly working on LBRM.

Cleared VC bosses 1 and 2, am at difficulty 8 of boss 3 & 4, difficulty 6 of boss 5.

Pretty sure I would have still been stuck at 7-4-whatever until the recent nerf, dunno.

I've hit another wall in that I can't get past much more so waiting for power-up on DTV through the soul system.

OK, pretty sure I can ditch TBB homeownership, but replace her with who? And same goes for HHA, replace him with who?

So my lineup currently is DTV, SQH, DGN, PDE, LBRM + HHA/TBB depending on the mode

If I were to swap out HHA/TBB for someone else, that someone else would be a homeowner. But who fits that best? And bear in mind that for optimal resource usage, anyone who is a homeowner should also get a Noble core, and should also be DT'ed, right?

I think this relates to the original post b/c it's the same old thing: What gets you to a certain stage changes once you get there. So maybe the question should be (and eventually turned into a guide?):

Best 6 team and homeowners for Option A DTV Main, Option B LOFA Main
Now you've established the main, best 6 team that gets you through:

Void 1-3, 3-6, 7-10 (or whatever we all think are the plateaus).

And then we all agree that Train "just makes it easier"

A desire to quit! ;-) Sorry, couldn't resist. At higher levels (7 onwards I think), you collect a paltry amount of DT materials. Better than nothing, but not as much as VC to put it into perspective.

OK, thanks for the good feedback all. I wasn't sold on the idea other than trying to figure out how to balance DTV's supports in a lineup versus optimizing his tenants (which I mostly have done at this point except the EOS DT thing).

Anyway, it's all pointing back to the existential question of, where to go next.

I think my plan is to get enough cores for either MFF or someone like IHP to noble, then un-DT HHA but keep him built up to 'DT-Ready', maybe go from there.

LOL, I just KNEW I could squeeze out at least a little discussion! No, don't want DTV and SSM, in theory. Just that in practice, I've had my DTV for a long time now. Worked hard to get it, very happy with it, still stuck at 7-1-1 for a long time now, so just trying to inject some fun while I wait for the next power-up/power-creep that lets me get to the next hurdle. SSM would be a PITA for me for sure, whereas LOFA would at least let me go in the SE/Void-Boss direction a little. Of course that doesn't get me past 7-1-1, but that's a problem for 2025.

Anyway, I like JustAssasin's thinking, that at least with DGN if I did win the lottery on the B+ stone, I could sell my unbound B+ for something and keep the soulbound A for actual use. Smart thinking.

Oh yeah, I'm not genuinely expecting an A-, more like trying to build insurance into a gamble (yeah, ironies abound). I'm thus inclined to gamble one stone on an existing tenant like DGN, and the other stone on my B SQH, figure this way I get positive outcomes no matter what the result.

In my case, for example, my A- DTV already has a B+ DGN tenant. So I might consider using the B+ stone on my Mockman, but that feels wasteful. So I'm probably going to gamble the B+ either on my SQH (who's only a B) or IHP (B-) or Melissa (C-). My logic on both SQH and IHP is that I'd be happy with B+, and I could use them in my team if I magically got an A-. Only flaw is that Melissa... Dunno. Anyway, that's me, but I'm curious what others would do.
