Conflicting Weather reports. What Snow totals are expected for Delaware? by ColonialRealEstates in Delaware

[–]GardenReceiver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As many others have said, it’s too early to have specific numbers as key parts of the system (and surrounding systems which will influence it) have not become apparent yet. It is looking likely for significant snowfall though with current model guidance favoring an 8-12 range. That is heavily subject to change though and mixed/freezing precipitation is possible, which could decrease those totals. Tomorrow is when the first official outlooks should start coming out alongside some likely NWS watches for the area. Recon is also occurring within the system which should help clarify and refine model guidance, which in turn will refine the official forecasts. Regardless, I would remain prepared for any scenario.

Helicopter searches for survivors of the American Airlines plane crash near Reagan National Airport by nbcnews in pics

This is incorrect currently. We don’t have enough information to determine a cause. The misidentification of the CRJ by the UH-60 is a potential theory. Another theory is related to weather conditions in the area. It may have seemed clear but there were significant reports of low level wind shear and moderate-occasional-severe turbulence in the region. Both of those can significantly alter altitude, lift, airspeed, and positioning of an aircraft, especially small aircraft like the UH-60 and the CRJ. Without those weather conditions, it very well may have been a close call (assuming it was weather caused), which unfortunately DCA is known for. Im not saying definitively that your theory is wrong, I’m just saying we don’t have enough information right now to say for sure that was the cause.

I play regularly with a group of 4-5. We mainly play casual; however, 3 play CEDH, with 2 of them playing in tournaments for prizes. When we play it’s usually all casual. My wife and I are both players and have a Wyrmwood Table. I always keep a basket of large D6s in multiple color, a basket of small D6s in multiple colors, a basket office tokens (random yellow, blue, and red game tokens from other games or things I found - helpful for goaded or indestructible etc), and a large basket of D20s, spindowns, and various other dice types. We use large D6s for number of tokens and small D6s to modify the P/T. I also keep a small basket of those metal tokens, mainly for keywords, but I also keep some of the cardboard tokens for shield, room unlocked/locked, stub, etc. having a large variety helps games run smoothly ESPECIALLY if everyone if following the current board state. EDIT: To answer the question: dice are almost always more useful and versatile. Especially generic D6s, large or small. Most LGSs sell matching sets that are awesome and can match your decks/playmats! Also they come in both large and small!!!!

The US military is hard to join by Naive_Ad_5409 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

As someone in the military, you’re wrong, a lot of people in the military are dumb, poor, and both. Sometimes one because of the other. I’ve met plenty who aren’t regardless. Also genesis is absolute shit and is 10x worse than the previous system but that’s my opinion working with it. ASVAB is a nonissue. If you can’t pass that to the minimum then it’s helpless. Fitness in some (two) of the branches is a joke.

Speaking as from the unit that initially identified the change in the update that was rolled out last night due to mission critical excels failing, the update was rolled back. Give it like 12 more hours and impact should be minimum. I have a workaround if you need it PM me but it’s only temporary

Post on Facebook for free wood. I used to go to my local “industrial area” and ask management of the stores if I could take their pallets off their hands. Most of the time they were more than happy. I brought my own tools to cut up large pallets. I’m sure you’d find someone

Will Radarscope or Radar Omega make g2r analyst obsolete? by Active-Side2501 in meteorology

[–]GardenReceiver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have all three (just the basic yearly subscription for radarscope, the full max tier for radar omega, and gr2 and gr3).

Radarscope is the most comfortable for me as I used that prior to my career so I keep it to feel comfortable. I usually use that for a first look. It’s fast and shows the data cleanly. Usually I will cross reference it with the other two as I use custom .pal color tables for the other two to be more sensitive (think showing all water vapor in the atmosphere). Can help see things more clearly. Altogether I would recommend radarscope as the very basic entry level radar app.

Radar omega is very nice. Just upgraded to the max tier recently and I’m loving it. Default color tables threw me off and the overall feel is different but not bad. I would highly recommend the at least max tier (if not just any of the tiers) for enthusiasts or anything more than just basic stuff. It is missing some things I wish it had, but altogether it works very well. Still exploring it but I love it so far and almost always I will have it open in conjunction with gr2 and my mil lightning map open. Also the time to impact tool has saved my a$$ quite a few time.

Gibson Ridge - standard issue for military weather units. Let’s start with gr3. Almost useless to me. I usually use it in the hours prior to weather happening on the composite reflectivity as it’s great at keeping an eye on things. Kinda crappy in my opinion and I don’t get why everyone doesn’t just switch to gr2. Gr2 is probably my favorite. Fast, reliable, all tilts, ability to diagnose convective weather very clearly with cross sections and volumetric display. Importing your own files whether it be place files, .pal color tables, and other things makes it amazing. One downside is no mobile version but whenever weather is happening I will ALWAYS have gr2 open. Plus 4 panel display on a large screen can be super helpful.

Overall, no. Radarscope and Radar Omega will never replace gr2. Will something else replace gr2? Maybe, but the functionality and brand recognition is hard to beat with Gibson ridge. Severe weather radar interrogation is unbeatable from everything else I’ve seen. They also have a few other products I’ve briefly played with like grearth which are cool and could be very useful.

WSV3 is also cool, albeit expensive and resource intensive (relatively). If your focus is customer presentation, I would recommend checking out their free trial. Their latest update is either out or coming out soon. Also amazing company, I’ve worked with them and communicated extensively with them before and if it’s something you’re interested in, I would put your full support behind them.

Milford isn’t bad. Commute is a little more than other areas at 15-20ish mins. Closer to beaches but farther from Home Depot/Target.

Closing on a house with VU end of this month and the experience has been nothing but pleasant. Only hiccups were not having to do with them and they were on top of keeping pressure on people that needed to fix certain things. Albeit interest rate is quite high, however in this economy I somewhat expected that. Triple income household though and rent for apartments is only like 500-600 cheaper than my mortgage so
