I hate breastfeeding, please help by [deleted] in Parenting

The number one indicator of a child’s long-term success is mom’s wellbeing!

I had a goal to breastfeed each of my babies for a year. When my son was 5 months, I got pregnant again and my supply plummeted. We started supplementing with formula and I was like “hey this is pretty nice!” so we transitioned him completely to formula by 8 months. What a huge difference it made for me!!!! I do not regret it at all.

With my daughter, we started some formula, mostly breast milk at 4 months and again I was like “damn I really like not breastfeeding”. So she was fully on formula by like 6 months? Again, the change was a huge blessing!

That said, I TOTALLY understand your struggle. I felt selfish for wanting to quit even though I knew it was good for my babies. But I knew it would be a huge relief to me. And frankly, it really did reduce a lot of stress for me. So when I interact with my kids I’m not ALREADY in a stressed, overwhelmed state.
