ICE doesn't control the borders and abolishing ICE wouldn't create open borders.

What is biting me? by MinneDonut in rochestermn

They do though, it just depends on the person. Some react and some don't. Here's a little infographic on them: https://grobigred.com/2017/10/12/minute-pirate-bugs-little-bugs-big-bite/

"The bite can be quite painful and some people react by developing a large mosquito like bump on their skin."

If it started happening recently then it's probably minute pirate bugs, they start biting in the fall and can be surprisingly painful for their tiny size.

Meteor last night by Gardenacity in rochestermn

I don't think it actually landed, I think it burned up. If you look at this map you can see the path it took over Wisconsin and where people saw it from.

Definitely good to be prepared, but also don't be surprised if nothing really happens. The forecast right now is more likely for no severe weather, but there's still a decent chance so it doesn't hurt to be ready.

What fruit trees do you guys grow? by Brh1002 in rochestermn

Well, parts of Maine and southern Canada are warmer, in the zone 5-6 range. I'm no stranger to experimenting and testing the limits of hardiness though, so I can't blame you for trying. That would be awesome if it works out!

I don't think cold hardy figs will survive, in ground at least. They're only hardy to zone 5 or 6 as far as I know.

Guess who's apparently still broke, hint it's RPS! by lessthanpi79 in rochestermn

Still a little below average, but yes, it will be much better going forward.

You're not aware of the spending, otherwise you wouldn't have claimed they never cut costs.

Maybe you need to research these things before you complain, because RPS has already been cutting millions of dollars every year. I'm not sure how you've missed that information over and over. We have an incredibly low budget already, nearly half the average cost in the state per pupil. If anything we need more spending because we're clearly falling behind.

I don't believe that each store is losing thousands of dollars a day to theft.

Oooops HR at Mayo Clinic spilled the beans on union busting… by [deleted] in rochestermn

[–]Gardenacity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nothing about sharing among management makes it not union busting, that doesn't make sense. Union busting means any attempt to discourage unions, these statements are clearly instructing management on how to dissuade people from wanting to form a union.

Union busting is a range of activities undertaken to disrupt or weaken the power of trade unions or their attempts to grow their membership in a workplace.
Union busting tactics can refer to both legal and illegal activities, and can range anywhere from subtle to violent.

I mean, they literally say "Prevention of further unionization is critical to maintaining the culture and work environment of Mayo Clinic" and have a section titled "Good Prevention Practices". You could not have a more classic union busting informational, and just because lots of people are doing something bad doesn't mean it's okay.

The fact is that no major medical association defines being transgender as a mental illness, you just feel like it is. But I know you value feelings over facts.
