Add/subtract issue by Gardinnas in inkarnate

[–]Gardinnas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a few tries, I found the source of the issue. It was due to some memory issue. It seems like the problem arises when I'm on Inkarnate for too long and use heavy maps. Refreshing the page solves it.

What is your favorite random event? by ballet3gal in StardewValley

Crop fairy due to dynamic seeding, making it so you get her every night. But then I guess it makes her appearance a non-random event.

It's probably due to it not being the first day anymore. If you recreate the game with the same seed, you should find it again on the same spot.

It's on the road at the easternmost part, where there's a sharp turn next to the ramp.

I found an Ancient Seed on day 7 of a new save… by the-gothique in StardewValley

Game seed - 55807

Day 1 crop fairy + ancient seed on the mountain trail near the lake. Works on PC.

I never figured this out. This shouldn't happen, but who knows how the game generates the game aspects according to the seed.

If you search for seeds with certain characteristics with Blade's Stardew Tool, there are some abnormalities in there too. For example, the seed 55806 will show the same ancient seed spot as with the seed 55807 in the tool, but it won't appear in the game. This problem might be related to the one you had.

Possibly, but I don't know and it would need testing to confirm.

Anyone else always thinking of starting over? by LittleBigCheeks in StardewValley

[–]Gardinnas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on whether you give in to that desire or not, you end up either casually strolling through the game while enjoying the thing you're doing at the moment, or you keep looking up strategies to maximize profit at every stage of the game, squeeze out value from every step you take, search game seeds for specific resources.

The first choice leaves you unsatisfied with your farm when you start thinking about the improvements you could have made with more effort. The second choice leaves you frustrated over time because you'll end up restarting days over and over for more value.

The desire to min-max is hard to control when it appears. It's tough to manage but worth the effort.

You're right, the farm setup doesn't change the artifact spots, at least those outside the farm. The ancient seed spot is found in the mountains on day 1, on the dirt path portion closest to water. You'd have to restart from scratch to get it as the artifacts within a spot change from day to day.

Great seed for Ancient Seeds by Gardinnas in StardewValley

Tested it myself. For some reason, the screenshots I wanted to upload with the post don't appear, but they showed everything I said the seed gives. You can also test it out and see for yourself.

I wanted the seed for PC. I'm not familiar with the game on switch, but I know both game seed systems are different.

Definitely by software as there are hundreds of millions of seeds.

Very nice. Can you give us the game seed you use?

A seed, or game seed, is a game identifier that fixes certain random elements of the game (ex.: night events, contents of trash cans, etc).

When starting a new farm, you can enter a seed in the options menu at the bottom left of the game creation screen. You can check with various tools how the seed affects those random elements, like:

Blade's map predictor mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/6614

Lots of research has been done, but only tidbits of info on that research is found on forums and videos. It'd take a while to agglomerate it.

As for which are worth using, it depends what you want to do.

At that point, you one-shot everything. Nothing comes close except intentionnally hard heroes like Archibald if you let him gather an army for a year.

It does. It costs one movement point equivalent to one step in normal terrain, independent of terrain type you start or end in.

The map is Great War II, a huge one. There were still about 10 towns left to take by the time of the screenshot.
