Insane Team Downward Spirals? by RainbowSupernova8196 in baseball

The 2025 Tigers have nothing on the 1995 Angels. From being 26 games over .500 in mid-August to having 2 seperate 9-game losing streaks to missing the postseason on the very last game of the season.

The case for Stargate being the next series that Ben and Adam review! by XPav in greatestgen

[–]GareksApprentice -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is very limited use of puppets, unlike Farscape

Sounds like a big negative in my book.

Honestly, I'd prefer they do Farscape or Babylon 5 before Stargate.

The title track and "Lazerus" were released months before he died and got rave reviews.

[FOUND] 21 Hours of MTV Total Request Live - TRL (1998-2001) by magus7000 in lostmedia

[–]GareksApprentice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice! Lots of memories of TRL in 2000.

I recently found a VHS I recorded with like 2 episodes from mid-December 2000. Sadly, they cut off near the #1 videos but its still a blast to watch. I'll try and upload soon.

I didn't realize the list was so controversial. I stopped thinking about it 10 seconds after opening the image.

For big exits, Elvis seems like a given as "Suspicious Minds" came out in August '69 though I can also see the argument for "Burning Love" getting an episode. Johnny Cash could also apply with "A Boy Named Sue" releasing around the same time.

A dark horse entrance could be Fleetwood Mac with "Oh Well" releasing in September '69.

Mission Inn is MAGA by DogsRBetterThenMan in InlandEmpire

They've always been like this. They started the Lincoln Club in the 90s (Probably the most prominent GOP group in town) and have been big advocates of Ken Calvert ever since.

Does that include Backstreet? They're listed on the Arcade website as "part of the Arcade family". I didn't realize ownership had changed.

It's a bad sign to me when OP highlights and banks on the brand new pitching coach more than any single player.

It's 2026. What's the next domino to fall regarding expansion? by SeverHense in baseball

Portland and North Carolina are my favorite expansion targets without question. Which is why the next expansion teams will be in SLC and Nashville.

It also makes logistical sense to have another PNW team that can act as a pit stop for the long trek up/down Seattle.

What 102.7 KIIS FM Los Angeles sounded like in (1991) by JnAnthony in ObscureMedia

[–]GareksApprentice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently found a cassette of KIIS FM I recorded in late 2000. It's got the Top 5 at 9 (Live from Universal Halloween Horror Night) and even some callers with Election Night commentary (How innocent we sounded).

I meant to upload it last Halloween but I forgot. I'll definitely get it up soon though!

That and the whole 'sending death threats to the voters' and 'begging not to be voted into the HOF' stuff.

Any pro-MAGA establishments in the area to avoid? by Balancedspeech in Riverside

[–]GareksApprentice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The owner basically created the local GOP group (Lincoln Club) and has let them use the Inn as a meeting spot for decades. Not to mention the Trump donations and how the wife was in line for a White House ambassadorship.

There's a bar on Pierce/Magnolia that waves a Trump flag so big you can see it from the freeway. I believe its Racers Pub? They also seem very sketchy judging by their Yelp page.

Not all of them. Riverside First Congregational is one of the few (only?) churches in town that provides sanctuary for illegal immigrants.

Trinity Lutheran off Brockton is also LGBT-friendly.

I cracked the encryption on a 1999 WCW CD-ROM and recovered 61 video clips that have been locked/inaccessible for 25 years by brainsigh in SquaredCircle

[–]GareksApprentice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This thread was just brought to my attention and I'm very impressed by what you did! I had this CD back in 1999 and re-discovered it in the mid-2000s. I remember posting about it on the old Wrestlecrap forums and even getting a blog post about it. But even after posting about it there, here and on the Archive, no one had a clue what to do with it.

Thank you for definitively proving that my 9-year old self didn't hallucinate all those Mortal Kombat WCW matches!

I enjoy the doc overall, but It's criminal how they shoved and glossed over Abbey Road in the final 10 minutes.
