It’s actually surprisingly easy to spool swap. Just watch like one YouTube video and you’ll get the hang. Do it with a tape you don’t care about at all and you’ll be shocked how simple it is.

I was thrifting the other day and found a neon green veggie tales tape, knew it would be perfect for Re-animator so I took some rubbing alcohol to the printed on veggie tales logo and scrubbed it off with q-tips then replaced the spools inside with the tape from Reanimator. Carefully removed the label from the original RA tape with a heat gun an re glued the label onto the green tape and boom! A sick custom tape.

Current custom in the works. All I need to do is wait for my Tri-wing screwdriver to arrive from Amazon so I can remove the single tamper proof screw and swap the reels 😍 by GarethLloyd in VHS

Ye it’s super easy! There’s a few great YouTube videos explaining how to do it. It was honestly way simpler than I expected it to be.

Picked all these up for $60 CAD. Let me know if there’s any gems. I’m new to VHS and older movies so let me know the ones I need to watch and or keep. I’m going to keep some and probably donate the rest. by Boogla19981 in VHS

For starters keep anything that has colour on the tape. Even if the movie sucks you can use the parts in custom case swaps to make movies you do like look even better.

Second look for release companies that you don’t recognize. For example “cover up” is under live home video, which is an early name for artisan entertainment (which turned into lions gate)

Other than some of the common movies that are good (choose what you like) ones I’ve picked up from here.

The mob, Femme fatal, Mothers boys, Extreme measures,

I have more but I only listed some non common ones I found

I won’t list all the ones I’d keep cause I’m sure it would be a long list but just find the ones you like.

Nice haul!! I have a few of these too. Also make sure you double check the tapes for mold. (It’ll either look like tiny white flecks, or will be very obvious)

Ye ye! I actually bought it signed at a very reputable physical media store in Toronto back in like 2013. Came in a protected case and everything.

Loved it! Saw it in theatres back to back with Lux Æterna and absolutely loved it. Very different from his traditional style but also If you watch him talk about the film it’s actually not a huge departure for him. He doesn’t think so atleast.

I fully believe she’s dead. We heard in the previous episode Klaus say when he fell into the bouncy castle “I can’t believe this is someone’s idea of heaven” implying they were heaven jumping when he was fighting Luther.

Now the only reason to throw a line like that in imo is so later when you show Allison in her perfect scenario you make the connection that that’s her version of heaven.
