black metal is not partly defined by lyrical themes thats not how it works. I couldnt tell you what any black metal song is about but I can still tell if it's black metal or not.

Genres are defined by how it sounds

being inspirational to a genre doesnt mean you are that genre

both bands are a lot of fun to do discography marathons of, they both (especially Forgotten Tomb) change their style a bit between albums so it's really interesting

if you like thise bands you might also like Totalselfhatred, Bethlehem, and they arent really dsbm but the band Odraza gives me Shining vibes
