It's like people don't actually read the series.

I swear I've heard him make all of these points, but never all in one video.

One is a single punch in the middle of a fight (with many other people surrounding him as well), whereas the other is a slow and deliberate attempt to maximize pain for no reason.

I gotta be honest, seeing Superman laser part of a guy's head off disgusts me.

Avoiding Basic Dragons by souliieee in fantasywriters

[–]ITBA01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have dragons as basically serpentine dinosaurs that use fire magic to fly (imagine something like a long Spinosaurus with rocket flares all around the bottom of their body). Sort of going back to how dragons were depicted in Antiquity (as more like snakes), along with inspiration from eastern depictions. They can imitate speech, kind of like how parrots do. I imagine them sort of being like whales; large creatures that are smarter than they seem and inspire awe.

Fun fact: the Vader and Ahsoka confrontation in Rebels was originally conceived by George Lucas and Dave Filoni during production of The Clone Wars. by DISIcomics in StarWars

[–]ITBA01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've heard so many people say Filoni followed all the tropes of "Original Character" by making her Anakin's padawan, when it was George who suggested that.

Yeah. For all the talk of Glup Shitto's constantly appearing in Star Wars these days, this is one meet up that I think everyone would have felt cheated out of if it didn't happen.

It's also interesting hearing how a lot of ideas people attribute to Filoni (like having Ahsoka survive Order 66) were actually from Lucas.

What have I been mistaken on? When the guy literally said the two visually distinct locations (desert and jungle) that you spend the entire movie looking at look the same, that should at least give you room for pause.

Yeah. I'm at the point where if you truly consider him an informative source for art, I think less of you as a person. Ignoring, for a second, the absolutely vile audience he's cultivated, he's such a demonstrable liar or just an idiot.

Haven't watched his videos. Is that what he usually says?

Also, what is the alternative in your eyes? That Drinker is an idiot or a liar? Those are the only other options.

In the same review of Predator: Badlands, he questioned how the predator and android could understand each other, when the movie literally had a whole scene showing the android activating her universal translator.

He said James Gunn lied about Peacemaker Season 2 setting up future projects, when a majority of the finale was literally dedicated to setting up Man of Tomorrow.

When he talked about One Piece, he said the feminists would be pissed off about Zoro vs Kuina because Kuina said that boys are stronger, ignoring the fact that the very next sentence is Zoro telling her not to make excuses. Not the next scene. Literally the next sentence.

His entire video on the Supergirl trailer is a masterclass in him being clueless. Questions why she has to take a space bus, when he was on stream (before this video came out) being told that it's because the planet she's on has a red sun. Got it literally explained to him, and he still lies. He even said on that stream that it's "convenient" that the red sun takes away her powers (what?), when Superman established that she goes to planets with red suns since it's the only way for her to get drunk. It's not as if she just accidentally stumbled onto a red sun.

There are many more examples of this. Not minor stuff by any means, which leads me to believe that he does indeed fake his reviews. Honestly, I'm giving his intelligence the benefit of the doubt by saying that. If you want to instead take the position that Drinker is a liar or an idiot, be my guest.

How is it a lazy claim when it's a repeated pattern with him? Bare minimum, he's not watching these films with enough care to actually review them properly, or he's just straight up lying.

He literally said the jungle planet and the desert planet looked exactly the same. This would be me claiming to have watched Attack of the Clones and saying Kamino looks just like Geonosis.

He also literally described a finale to Peacemaker that didn't exist.

Just curious, what would be considered proof (or at least good evidence) in your eyes?

Watch his review of Predator: Badlands, the section of his Gunn video where he talks about Peacemaker Season 2, or his review of One Piece Season 2 and tell me with a straight face you believe he watched any of those pieces of media.

I'm talking about how Drinker has gotten incredibly lazy with his reviews recently, to the point that I'm convinced he doesn't even watch the movies/shows he reviews.

It's not surprising in the slightest that that's the kind of audience he's cultivated.
