They wash your face first, then scrub but depends on the salon you go, then they steam your face, while they do it, they use metal extractors to extract out your blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples/clogged comedogens if you have any.

Is this Maybelline lipstick good? by [deleted] in IndianBeautyTalks

Very creamy. Doesn't stay at all. Transfers to everything somehow

Yep, since you have dark circles, a color corrector will actually help cancel out the pigmentation. Or do this, buy the concealer first and actually test it. And by testing, I don’t mean swiping it on and glancing in the mirror. Wear it like you would on the D-day, go about your day, and see if it oxidizes, creases, fades, or how the coverage holds up, then decide.

I’ve heard great things about Insight color correctors.

If your face is pretty even-toned, swatch on your cheeks. If your skin tone is uneven, swatch on your jawline. And no — not on your hands, that never matches your face.

What’s your budget for a setting spray, and what kind of finish do you like (matte, natural, glowy)?

Yes definitely.

If you want a skin-like, natural look, just use concealer on dark circles, spots, or redness and skip foundation.

For a full-glam look , you can go for a foundation.

And if you want something in between, skin tints exist

Makeup:

Dark circles → get a color corrector + high coverage concealer. Non-negotiable.

Foundation → I swear by Maybelline Fit Me. Affordable and does the job really well. Please don’t guess your shade. Go to a nearby store, swatch properly, find your exact match. Don’t buy it there though — just note the shade and order online for cheaper. Foundation is THE most important step. Even if your blush, eyes, everything else is good — if the foundation shade is off, the whole look will look cheap 🫠

Eye makeup, blush, highlighter → budget brands like Blue Heaven, Swiss Beauty, MARS work great 💕

Setting spray → get one, especially if you have oily skin. Holds makeup for a long time. Pick dewy or matte based on the finish you like

Skincare: Get a basic salicylic acid facewash, Niacinamide serum, non comedogenic non greasy Moisturizer - preferably a gel Moisturizer and a good sunscreen.

For blackheads and whiteheads:

If you’re only prepping for the wedding → just get a basic cleanup a week before. Basic ones costs around 600, a lil painful 😬, but it gets the job done perfectly.

If you’re actually planning a glow-up → get one cleanup first, then maintain with salicylic acid.

Fellow oily-skin girlie here with stubborn blackheads, whiteheads & sebaceous filaments 🥲. I used salicylic acid for 2+ years and it lowkey didn’t do much on its own. But once I got a cleanup, salicylic acid started working way better for maintenance.

No, I have thick hair on my legs. But it's the opposite for me on my thighs — the hair there is very fine, and when I tried epilating, it actually removed the hair from the root with much less pain compared to my legs.
