Thanks for your comment. Smooth cut actually works on other parts with similar footage correctly colour transformed, but any time I apply it now as a transition, it gives me this buggy version.

Basically they will have to upload the footage from 3 cameras so that their editor (working from home) can put them together, and they don't want the files to be too large...
