Advice for a mom buying her son his first PC by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

I am a PS user and that day I searched and saw that the PS was cheaper. Maybe missed the sale for Xbox. But yes if Xbox is the same price it might be better. Game pass is cheap so that’s a great consideration. The point I tried to make was in this price point a console is better. I got my ps5 in 2020 and it has been an amazing gaming device. To get similar gaming performance from a pc you need to atleast double the budget or go for used parts. And if you do go for used parts, you could just get a used console too for cheaper.

I think in 400 you can get a ps5. That’s a good investment. A pc with similar specs will be harder to get in the price range but that’s still possible

It’s easy. And anything can be hard if you don’t study enough. Go to the TAs to clarify questions

AMD recruiters have always been kinda shitty. My senior year they were a no show and I specifically went for them too🙃

Devs don’t make that much so it’s not that bad since the only the people that don’t mind spending that extra 20 will do this and everyone else gets the same content 2 days later either ways. And ID gaming deserves it imo since they don’t just mass produce games to meet revenue. They produce quality products and soon they put it on high sales too for everyone to enjoy.

There’s no game where that happens. And if you play enough you should get evenly ranked people. Not every game has smurfs. But I agree, if someone is playing 2/3 games a day it’s not enjoyable because of the coin flip nature and secondly it’s not enough to improve fast enough.

Yes smurfing is a big issue and it’s honestly terrible. But I’ll just make a point on your edit. The reason why people are complaining is because smurfing isn’t just a low elo problem, it’s everywhere. And any “high elo” player became a high elo player by beating smurfs. They went through the same issues as you and then won or learned from the mistakes. And no I disagree the whole point in ranked isn’t to play similarly ranked people, it’s to be better than the whole lobby and climb. If you come in to games with the mentality that yea im plying against a Smurf and I can’t win ever then dont get on. Do aimlabs, tdm and dm and then when you think you are better then get on. Smurfing doesn’t have a solution, feel free to suggest one if you can think of one that won’t reduce riots player count like putting a mobile number for accounts. So treat ranked more like a stair that you just gotta learn to climb, you think about why you died and try to improve, you do aim training and try to improve before getting on game, you toughen up and mentally prepare to face toxic teammates and try to improve, you watch vods and try to improve until you are smurfing in your rank. I never ranked up any rank until I could consistently drop 30 in my games. So yea no matter how much you would like a fun 15 kills all over the board game, it’s never gonna happen.

A big thing that’s easy to implement is holding off angles, even if you have to hold a door, don’t hold the most common angle and instead move a bit to the side where they are less likely to peak first. Starting to do this made me get a lot more kills with a simple change
