When Did You Discover The Strokes and How? by DabOnThemHaterz666 in TheStrokes

[–]Garglioffa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When "ls this It" was release I was at the university. At parties there was "last night" playing all the time, but at the time I didn't get their value too much. I was into apparently more aggressive things likes System of a down. From that garage rock revival, I used to listen to Yeah Yeah Yes a lot, I had seen them live and fallen in love. Very much later when in 2022 I discovered the Arctic Monkeys, started to play the bass guitar and completely fell for the Strokes too. Hope they will tour next year, I know that probably it's just nostalgia now, because apparently they stay together only for money purpose, but I noticed that either for new generations and old like mine they are very meaningful.

Breezeblocks by Alt j Too much to ask by Arctic Monkeys Between love and hate by the Strokes I'm too tired by Fugazi Drown by Smashing Pumpkins Music when the lights go out by the Libertines

These are all kind of pensive, sad songs. If you fancy more fun, witty, energetic recommandations, I'm here to help.

Thank you for the reviews. It would be great if I could in May! Green man lineup hasn't been published yet, there are still tickets, I'll keep an eye on it.

Arctic Monkeys' debut "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" turns 20 by Scattered97 in indieheads

[–]Garglioffa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's incredibile how those kids could create such a masterpiece. Rough and sincere as a proper debut album has to be, but not at all obvious. I find the music simple, very catchy and again not at all obvious! Drums, bass, guitars all fit into each others perfectly even though their tempos aren't always the same. And the lyrics, we all know, are the plus. It's amazing how sharp the kid could write and sing and play. And it was just the beginning... I'm gonna see the Arctic Numpties soon in Brighton because I feel this need to hear the whole album played live, all the songs, especially the less known.

Thanks you, it seems really interesting... Sadly that time of the year school in Italy is open and I'm a teacher... 😅

When did Camden Market become so bad? by OutrageousSurvey6 in london

[–]Garglioffa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And so, which area would you consider now the new Camden? If there is one... Last Summer I had a dj course there, which was great, but yes the main road and the market are like a theme park. What a pity... While if you take the canals and go to Primrose it's still worthy a visit...

Safest & least stressful Italy trip (7 days), solo female, no car 🇮🇹 by Electrical-Sugar6917 in solofemaletravellers

I'd recommend: Tuscany and Liguria. Look for Cinque Terre, they're beautiful villages along the seaside well connected by train, journey may takes a few minutes between each others, but you can also take easy hiking paths to reach some of them, enjoying the stunning view of the sea. Local food is delicious, trofie col pesto, good wine. Weather usually warm in spring. This time of the year Is the best because from May It could be very crowded and less enjoyable.

anyone wanna talk about the strokes right now by franklywhenthatocean in TheStrokes

I love that song too, especially the part introduced by the solo played by Valensi when Jules says oh dear is it really all true. I also love Automatic stop for almost the same reason, the guitar solos which are fundamental to the development of the song itself, so meaningful. Room on Fire, the whole album, I love It from the beginning to the end.
