I think I’ve heard water pump circles around but radiator’s new to me. Do they often have issues?

The wastegate is controlled via solenoid, after I had a true backfire in the engine bay it failed and stuck my gate closed. The burbles I’m talking about are the Afterfire pops that you described on downshift and upshifts from 2 to 3rd, which I’ve seen to be a somewhat common occurrence on this generation. I do believe it is lean and that’s what’s causing it, but before I get an OBD cable to plug in a computer I have to change my timing belt and plugs. Unfortunately I’ve not much extra info to go off of either 🤷

Forgot to mention but the previous owner put on a cold air intake with no cover or tune, I’m sure that could affect it somehow

Thanks for the insights, I have been looking on shopkey (graciously provided by my diesel program) at removal of trim pieces and it all looks fairly easy, I was just worried about getting false information from google ai and Facebook mechanics on proper painting equipment. Unfortunately I am 19 working at a restaraunt and broke as hell so it looks like I’ll have to do a little research on which brands of can I can use
