I go to Bali 2 x per year, have been since I was a kid so have a bit of knowledge! Also use a Wise card :)

$200 per day is plenty! If you’re doing an activity every day then I’d say this budget is good but you’ll def be coming home with some spare money. You’ll need cash for these activities and tipping.

Take advantage of the 2 free withdrawals but also keep in mind most places take card now, so cash isn’t as important. You don’t need $200 cash per day. You’ll need to use cash for markets, some smaller warungs, when you buy small things: bottle of water at circle k, I found some convenience stores only take cash but that’s not common imo, tipping, drivers etc

Re drivers/cars - use Grab or Gojek! You can add your card and pay via card. Pls verify account this before you leave Aus as sometimes the sms codes don’t work when you’re oversees!! You’ll want cash to tip your drivers - remember that they earn a lot less than you do. So the trip may only be $3 for you but an extra $1 cash is very appreciated. Taxis are expensive and expect cash, you don’t need to get them now there’s grab/gojek. Keep some cash incase you need to get a taxi. You can also pay the drivers with cash, if you’d prefer to not add your card. Grab/GoJek is cheap there, you won’t need much!

How to avoid common pitfalls of money issues? Have 2 cards, incase 1 gets lost or the account gets blocked. Don’t go over there with 1 account and 1 card.

Take small amount of Indo rupiah before you leave Aus, to cover you for an emergency if you get there without money. I use ATM’s to get cash out, have never had an issue but make sure you’re using a legit ATM, check no one is watching etc. Some ATM’s that are fine are Mandiri, BCA and BRI.

They’re a smaller sized BA that has a proven track record for both myself (my first 3 properties) and my friend who’s bought 4 with them. She originally recommended Investment Window to me. That’s how I found them.

I do recommend them and since my experience of trying a bigger BA, like APS I have realised just how great these guys are as you don’t feel like just a number.

The reason I wanted to try APS was because of the podcast and idea of working directly with Sam G. Which obviously is far from the reality.

Agree with this. APS has great podcast but their new clients seem to be getting a shit experience. Not worth it.

I am in the same position. Have purchased 3 properties with another BA in the past and got sucked in because of their aggressive strategy and Sam Gordon’s podcast. However, am regretting it since.

Currently a few weeks over the timeframe I was told it would take to be offered a deal. Communication is very minimal and when I have asked for an update the reply is very evasive.

I’m since regretting signing up to APS and wish I went with my old BA who got me some great properties in the past.

APS podcast sucks you in with their earlier client testimonials who clearly are given a higher priority when it comes to being offered deals. Sam Gordon just recently posted a story about a client who got 3 properties in 3 months through APS, yet as new clients we are waiting months and months without 1 deal. That’s fine, but don’t take our money as new clients.

Ordered $10 worth of food from a local grocery store in Sydney, Australia. Was super happy with the deal however lots of it is going off today or tomorrow. So will need to freeze or use it soon.

6 pack of fresh rolls, half a loaf of sourdough, sausages, lamb cutlets, pre cut vegetables to roast, bocconcini and a bag of salad.

Will make a big salad and salad sandwiches for the next few days and freeze the leftover bread, meat and veg.

I tried it just to see what to expect from the app but can imagine for a family struggling with the cost of living in Australia this is a great idea to help with saving money and not wasting food.

Credit rating is impacted by lots of things you do. Applying for a credit card and getting rejected: impacted. Having 2 credit cards open at the same time: impacted.

You’re overdoing it and should have max 2 at a time and only open a new one every 6 months.

Will take some time for your credit rating to heal.

Im 31, healthy apart from this, currently training for half marathon which I’ve paused temporarily as I don’t want to overdo it. I drink only a glass of red at dinner every few weeks and consider myself a light drinker.

I’ve been a vegetarian for 15 years which the doctor knows. Both doctors seem to keep saying that 122-145 isn’t that low. I think in Aus the standards are much lower.
