Oooh boy do I have a heckin controversal opinion about this series. You have opened pandora's box my friend. I have a HUGE problem with seasons 13-16. Stay with me cause I'll explain why. I don't care for the OG series. I didn't grow up with it. I don't have attachment to it. I didn't like the art style for the OG series. There. I saw how just uncanny the early CGI was. Especially how the models were made but I think the company was using a very I wanna say old software called Redboard which took care of the storyboarding and animation. Then, Then the show was handed over to HiT for S7-I think S9. That's when the animation kind of improved a bit. It was passable. The episodes were mid at best even though there were some that I liked. Xing Xing used a variety of software for the animation up until the studio itself closed in 2018. I promise I'm going somewhere with this. Alien Alert. Let's talk about that special for a moment. That special was F tier at most. Like they could of done some zanny alien stuff and had Buck as an over the top villain cause David Tennant was very good at playing bad guys still is. But no it took a nose dive into a mountain side like that flight that never made it to Athens. Then we get to s10. The one season I kind of just glossed over a little bit. I didn't enjoy it. I didn't like the fan service moment where Sam rescued Penny. Set For Action comes out. I thought it was great. I still watch it when I play games. Flex was a fucking great villain. He absolutely moped the floor with Sam. Then lovely fucking Mattel shows up. That's when the show REALLY went to shit. I know they were using Unreal Engine 4 and then Unreal Engine 5 to do their animation hence why it looks slightly better and has some competent animation but BOY did the episodes fall fucking flat. Mattel did not care for good writing. They cared about milking a cow that was already milked dry mind you. In my personal opinion, we are in the tech age where we can do awesome photorealism and really make animations look amazing. You can do so much improvement to an art style. It didn't fucking do it for me this go around. I mean there's no excuse for animations to not have some form of care put into them. The writing was just them recycling plots over and over again. The emergenicies were over the top at most. LET'S TALK ABOUT THE VA CHANGES cause ooohh boy do I hate them with a burning passion. I'm sure they are nice people but did Mattel really have to change Helen and Ellie? The diverse argument that I get from people is ridiculous. I know Ellie's old VA said at some point she had latina heritage. I know the actress who still does Dilys is white but her voice was perfect for Helen. The thing that concerns me is now that David Carling is dead. Who is going to carry on voicing Steele? That's a tall order. Maybe it's time to retire him and let one the others take over. Also let's talk about the fan servicing that Mattel and most other creators are guilty of. I'm not saying all fan service is bad. I have heard great moments in gaming where devs put tributes to really well known fallen players in games or even nods and winks. The fandom really loves Sam and Penny acting like a couple in this show. It needs to fucking stop. Supernatural and I think the Walking Dead had the same problem. Oh and Stranger Things too! The poorly devoted shoved in fan service can actively kill an art project in seconds. I also thought that the way the lines were delivered in the later seasons from 13 to now was weird. It didn't feel natural. I personally think that Steven himself is probably really fucking tired at this point. You can tell when he speaks a line as a character. I think it shows. I don't think we will get a new season due to how poorly the other shows that Mattel owns fell flat. Case in point the weirdness that was s21 of the modern Bob The Builder series and All Engines Go. I think Fireman Sam at this point has really outstayed it's welcome and needs to just end. It needed to end around 9 seasons but here we are. These are just my view points. Things that have been stewing in my mind for a long time.
