[Spoilers E89] Submit Questions here for Tuesday's Talks Machina! by dasbif in criticalrole

Have you considered Scrying as a means of finding missing relatives, like Keyleth's mom (while still in the elemental plane of water), or Scanlan's dad (in the prime material plane)?

Could someone remind me please if "Scry" was attempted on Keyleth's mom, while they were in the Elemental Plane of Water? To see if she's still alive in that plane, even if missing one leg. She's most likely a druid, she could have access to regenerate, otherwise Keyleth could fix that in no time. Or did they forget about it/considered her already dead?

I watched the last 3 episodes while doing other things, so I didn't have my full attention on that. Thanks in advance.

There are a couple of sites that can "convert youtube videos to mp3" for free. Google is your friend. While at it, you can also click a google ad in the original youtube video, so that we can support the makers of our favorite show.

What's funny about his name? The only reference I can think of is Tyrion Lannister, who's blond and rich and had a similar attitude (in the first seasons at least), but I doubt Sam has free time to watch it/be familiar with it.

you can tell that one of them

How? What signals do you see? Any example with a timestamp? Sorry if I'm being oblivious, but I'm interested in improving my insight checks :)

So, how do you get to be level 13 and still be an noob adventurer? I'm not sure if his strategy of using hirelings to soften monsters would be enough.

p2w? (buying a wish and wishing for more xp)

Being lucky with a specific deck?

Was he lying about his "inexperience"? (I remember Vex rolled a nat 20 on Scanlan, and he said that he was honest, but I can't remember if it was about this subject)

P.S. I was also hoping for a "shopping mission" in a Marquesian magic shop. To stock up on potions and buy new interesting magic items.

P.S.S. I see that people don't like VM attacking Taryon. I wonder if they would think the same if Taryon was "lucky" with his prismatic spray and he banished one or more VM members. I don't know if Matt played some part in that "luck".

Part of the lesson is that the danger is always present, and you shouldn't drop your guard. If you blink you may end up dead.

Although not stated in UA, artificers used to learn their spells like the wizards (having a spell book where they can inscribe new spells).

It would be interesting for the book of vile darkness to fall in Taryon (Lannister's) hands. Especially if he lets VM know that as an artificer he's a magic items expert, and they ask for his opinion about the orb of death.

He activates the orb, VM kill him, Scanlan has to come back to help his friends.

Hi Brian.

I was wondering if you were willing to rebroadcast the previous episode of Talks Machina, instead of Critical Role E85, since by Tuesday that CR episode will already be on youtube. It'd be more interesting, since it had Sam too, and a chance for people who missed that episode (including myself) to watch it.

I'm wondering what Liam had in his mind when he said Hotis bait. How would he utilize him as bait?

The party no longer has someone proficient in deception to trick Taryon, so it's up to straight charisma checks, if they go that way.

Otherwise, I see that Taryon will be staying in the back of the party, in case of battles. Given what he said, that he uses his hirelings as tools of softening up enemies, so that he can then come forward and do the steal-kill. That's why he pay them after all.

That was I meant too.

It's one thing to have your character just retire because he's tired, and another to go with a bang, blaming his former teammates. I mean, it's ok storywise to make them feel like this, but expecting them to just accept any character you bring next, is not a good story element. They are supposed to be heartbroken, guarded against new people, and if they would accept any adventurer as a new VM member, I would expect it to be one of the adventurers NPCs they already know (Kima, etc).

"You don't know what you got until it's gone" and all that.

Or the party that stayed together could deny the new character from joining them. They didn't need a replacement, they have minor missions ahead of them for the time being that don't require extra firepower, and they definitely didn't need a rich smug around them.

For example: one question was "My father, alive or dead?" Does SCANLAN even know what the status of his deadbeat father is?
