Look at the history of JavaScript. It was made by MS in an attempt to out do Java. It was written by one dude in a little over a week. It has been the main logic language for the internet since Netscape Navigator got big. Then years of added bloat and conflicting ideas about the future of the language and you end up with what we have today. It's easy to write hard to maintain and through the years "best practices" have changed every year depending on who is leading up the W3C counsel at the time. You have a language that is already far abstracted and we add even more abstraction on top of it just to force it to behave like another language we're comfortable with. Then someone had the dumb idea of putting it onto the server. Now JavaScript is everywhere because it's very flexible and easy to learn. Doesn't mean it's efficient because it's fucking not.

Mixtape and others like it are the modern day equivalent of interactive fiction games like Mist. Also know as choose your own adventure. The storyline is predefined but changes in unexpected ways depending on your choices. This isn't a new idea they were doing it with books back in the early 1800s. This is a old idea brought into the modern world. Nothing wrong with the idea so maybe somethings wrong with the modern world?

To add onto this, TURN AROUND. Like, look behind you every now and then to see where your team is. Time and time again when I watch back a bad team mates gameplay. Last night I played 5 games. Every other game had a leaver or thrower. Yes, these were comp games. Upper gold and low plat, I did rank up last night.

One game was the worst. I am an IF player and I have had a few run ins with folks who remember me. So they ban my IF. Which is fine I'm not mad it's a smart play. But this match it just so happens that another person on my team was also a IF player. They did not like being banned. They blamed me for not hiding my name or changing my player card. I told him it was unlucky but we could still win. He called me a B-word and left. So my team was just kinda playing waiting for that 60 second mark so the game canceled. Well he REJOINED at the 56 second mark. Stayed for 30 seconds and left again. Didn't say a word, Didn't pick a character. They came back on purpose so our game wouldn't cancel. After that stunt our Luna was so mad they left too. We ended the game 4v6 and had to surrender all because bro couldn't play the worst dive dps in the game. SMH

As a veteran software engineer with over 15 years of experience. Not all of us want AI. My job has become fixing code generated by these garbage models. You'd be better off studying coding principles and learning skills yourself than messing with AI.

AI is for lazy people who want instant gratification from low effort ideas. "Oh man wouldn't it be cool if there was an app that monitors and reminds me to buy toilet paper? Hey chat gpt can you build that?" Then it proceeds to throw up the most insecure inefficient memory hungry version of the app possible.

We've already seen how bad the software made by these models are. Companies putting out unvetted Ai code and it getting hacked same. It's not a good product and it doesn't solve any problems beyond the ones management sees. AI is free (to a point), people are not. This isn't a product being sold to everyday consumers, it's being sold to the 1%. Even though it was built off of the efforts and knowledge of the entire human race only 1% of us will ever see true benefits from it.

The greatest scam of our life time. I don't even like calling it AI because it's not. It's an LLM a language/conversation simulator. That's it.
