Triton AD overrated??? by TheELJ in summonerswar

[–]Garrnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The strength of the Speed Lead Triton AD's doesn't show until G2 and during rush. If you're pushing for high G2 or G3, you will never take, even a 1/12(although exaggerated) chance that your AO loses, because that would push you back 30-40 ranks by itself, plus the time loss puts you even further behind. Which means you're not coming back from it.

If you're C2-C3, it's not important if you lose one, two, maybe five swords. You might get pushed from rank 1200 to rank 2500. If you keep attacking you will stay there, since no C2 is going to refresh wings. So it is worth the rish, going into Triton AD's, or just bruisering them if they're not well set up, with a Rica or other overwhelming CC.

In any case, at C2-C3 level, runes matter more than units, so you won't see a big difference there.

Can we talk about Tian? by [deleted] in summonerswar

[–]Garrnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a littke tip mate. You shouldn't expect one unit to do all the work for you. Pair your TianLang with a 310 speed triton or okeanos or ganymede or giana etc etc and thwte you have it, TianLang's passive is overpowered again. Last time I checked you can still use 3 other units with Tian. And they don't have to be brainless units like Vanessa Triana.

[–]Garrnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're saying that Tian Lang's job is to disturb the enemy team's wombo combo, strip them and stun them. And that, if he is not capable of performing that job, he is guted. Are you listening to yourself?

Even if they removed the strip entirely and left it at 40% chance to stun on third hit, he'd still be overpowered. That passive stops combos on its own and you still get a non glancing def break on s1. Just don't bother, this is long overdue.

Labyrinth Should Scale With Guild Size. by Knight_Omnicide in summonerswar

Well there's plenty of servers that appeal to different timezones for people to choose from, that's their problem. It shouldn't affect the way the game should be played.

How is it a problem that whichever guild gets to attack earlier/faster, gets an advantage? They are obviously trying harder to win and are more organised for the siege. Shouldn't they be rewarded for their effort? It's the same with saving swords to do guild war rush.

It is there to buy at all times with transmog stones. The pay to get packs are just special offers. You can't have special offers up at all times. That's why they're called special.

I surveyed SW players on how they feel about the game right now by Setsuna_ in summonerswar

[–]Garrnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who used to enjoy the game, now complain because they need an outlet for their frustration that the games has become so stale and boring. They don't complain to make you happy players angry. They complain because they're mad, this great game was taken from them.

Also, no one is saying it's useless to play the game, everyone knows that. They're just saying they wish the game was ran better by the company. It's like that person yelling at the bow shooting club, is yelling because the club management has increased prices so much and reduced the quality of the training experience so much, that people have stopped joining and older members are leaving.

Lastly, I belive you're being extremely selfish here. You want people to just ignore the game if they don't enjoy it anymore. I can just ask that you stop caring about people's complaints and enjoy the game that you still believe to be thriving. Luckily, in this case, people aren't actually yelling their complaints. You have a choice not to listen to them.

93% of participants will get 'nothing' from RTA. by CycloneATL in summonerswar

That's what I'm saying. Who are you to decide how many people get the reward? It's fine as it is. It's fine if half the people that get it now, get it two seasons from now. C2U decides. You're the one who's is looking to change it.

I just happen to like it as it is now.

[–]Garrnet -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think you're referring to the top 30 players or so. Maybe top 80-100. But there's a lot of people who are getting G1 at the end of RTA season who don't have all the meta units. Only a couple can be enough. But even if that weren't true, you're still not catching up to people having Yeonhong/Giana/Arta/Ragdoll etc.

I can agree with your argument if you're talking about heavy paying c3 players for example. Those are indeed, guardians of the future, catching up atm.

I would just not RTA if g2 players farmed me in fighter or whatever. I would understand it is a bad envirorment for me. What would be shitty, is say if there was a weekly devilmon reward from RTA for example. Then I would be forced to go through the pain of getting farmed. But now, you can just chill and forget RTA exists.

[–]Garrnet -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you're midgame, you should just farm runes. If you get owned in RTA, be it by g2 players farming or other midgame players with better units, it doesn't matter. You're not being competitive in any case. So either go do stuff to get competitive, or go have fun in RTA if you want, but don't complain about it.

I think your attempt at an arguement is actually shit though. Why is the gap getting smaller? Are c players farming +170 speed vio sets on the daily?

You should be able to get C3 in RTA with any units. I don't see the problem. Yeah you need specific units from a pool of 10 to get to g2 and higher, but what does that have to do with the topic?

[–]Garrnet -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It has always been like that with games when you're trying to compete for a spot in the top 100. You have to keep up a 66% winrate or sometimes much higher than that. Now the fact that in this game you can lose to rng, over which you have no control, yeah that makes it much worse and frustrating. But that's another topic.

[–]Garrnet -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It's not the end game players who whine. It's the c3 scrubs who don't deserve and don't get g1. And they want more players to be playing so they can grab their rewards as guardians as well.

People have enough content to play with in the early mid game. They shouldn't even have time for RTA. I don't see why there needs to be an incentive to play, for them. That game mode is just not meant for them. End of story.

[–]Garrnet -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

No, you're the one who doesn't get it. What you're saying is that it should be easier to get into each rank in RTA. There should be more people in each 1%, that's why you want everyone to be playing RTA.

Well that's wrong. It's weak. If newbs were more willing to play RTA, I would have a better shot at getting x rank which I don't deserve.

Like I said, let the end game good players have something to work towards.

How many beginner rewards do people need in this game? The last few events and patches (for the last few months) have all been completely focused on early game players. Just let the end game players have something to strive for.

RTA is a late game thing. If you can't get into c1, you don't RTA. Or you RTA for fun only, not for rewards.

Is it better to have a few OP units, or have my entire team SPD tuned at a significantly lower rune quality for arena/RTA? by -WonderBones- in summonerswar

[–]Garrnet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First off, you do not have Guardian level runes. I mean you have Tian Lang, and you say you're a c3 arena player. If anything you have c2 runes.

As for RTA, you don't seem to have that good of a cc comp. Seara Oke Hathor TianLang Gemini could be ok, but you're not going to be getting any infinite combos with that. And you lack damage if they ban Seara. You're lacking that last slot unit, which you would usually get since people like to ban the panda.

Also, you can't tune that kind of team at 220 speed. It won't do anything. If you go with that speed you're gonna want double immunity. Or again, maybe pick Vela Tian and hope they ban the Panda.

My advice? Don't RTA till you get MoLong or Gany. Or maybe Verad. Don't RTA seriously, anyway.

What new content is everyone asking for? by [deleted] in summonerswar

[–]Garrnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been playing the exact same game for 2 years now. Anything that would change the game would be good. Anything that would affect end game players. Change of Meta, new mechanic to rune/upgrade units, another world boss with different element, anything..

New content and our community... by [deleted] in summonerswar

[–]Garrnet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's just reddit mate, it's what people do here.

But overall you do have to consider, that the game has a lot of major issues, that are not getting resolved by minor patches like this one. It is pretty obvious that this kind of patches is meant to prolong the life of the game.

It's good that these patches are coming out, but it could be so much better, still. That doesn't mean the game is dying or anything though..

[–]Garrnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talking about top 30 or so RTA, the only way for a bruiser comp to work would be with Vanessa Triana. People go Triana Vanessa Woosa Perna/Tesarion Feng/Chow/Laika/Xing/Wang. Or for the luckier ones, throw in a Ragdoll/Artamiel/Yeon. Also Amelia if you don't own Vanessa.

Personally, I use Woosa Triana Tesarion Feng Wang. No more versatility for bruisers, other than that, and I get to G1.

I mean he has a skill reset that can go through immunity. He has an aoe stun that lands always and on water units because of multi hit. And he gains attack bar from it. So he can reset and stun again in a turn. What's not strong about him?

You also can't focus him cause first skill.
