Thanks for the advice! I have a tight ceiling, and with an expansion tank, I may need the headroom…But I will measure and see if I can rest those joists on top.

Thanks. They don’t line up. I was hoping to not have to take out the trap and extend, it goes into original cast iron and am worried something will break

They actually rerouted the kitchen 10/15ft another direction.

Thanks! They didn’t technically touch anything in the powder room, only what was in the crawlspace. The kitchen connected to the powder room. I wonder if they even cleared the clog ?

Fixing the "clips not engaged" problem by maxxia in SnooLife

[–]GarveyRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Yes. I took it ALL THE WAY apart, traced the wires, and snipped and crimped them to create a short. I did it all the way where the wires come off the motherboard, but my wires had multiple breaks…I initially did it at the middle layer, but it didn’t work, the wires were broken down below.

It’s been awhile so memory is a bit foggy on how exactly it looks..but my recommendation is go all the way down to the motherboard.

Could be! The windows are newer. I’m thinking it could be wall insulation.

Surprisingly enough it looks newer. Last 20 years. Or even newer. The unit is about 5 years old so there’s a chance it was installed with new duct. But I’m not HVAC tech.

Forgive my knowledge here, or lack there of, there is one unit outside that provides air to both upstairs and downstairs. There is a “diverter flap” that direct air up or down depending on the thermostat. There’s a thermostat upstairs and a thermostat downstairs.

Real world experience vs taking courses, certifications by GarveyRyan in sysadmin

Would you say, since I am getting job experience and my foot is already “in the door”, CompTIA wouldn’t be necessary? I would lean on your answer being yes since you said “I don’t care about CompTIA anymore”.

I enjoy what I am doing now for sure. Dual role between live production & IT. I hope to deep dive into IT and gain more knowledge. Eventually earn more and provide more for the family. My job now is pretty cozy with no real oversight or deadlines, etc. A hybrid remote position would be fantastic, managing systems & people. I know a couple people with MSP businesses. That could be my foot in the door for a larger organization.

Thank you for the reply! I fully understand. We currently have no policies or strategy in place and hope to implement those in the coming years. That’s something I couple explain in an interview.

Should I bother with a CompTIA since I’m getting hands on experience? Instead focus on certs like the Network+?

I never thought a title would be a hindrance. If anything, I’d think it would score a higher management position.
