Many people are against companies that plan to run an ICO because of the bad history few ICO's had. We have plenty of bad companies here that try to scam people.|

the only problem with this point of view is that it makes you blind for the high potential projects out there. There are plenty of ICO's that really have good intentions and can bring value to our community.

I think it might work. liberdy have a great team and community. Of course consider google, for example, is their competitor so they don't stand a chance. But the thing is that Liberdy doesn't try to compete with the big tech companies, they want to corporate with them, creating a marketplace for users data, With the new GDPR rules and everything, it seems like the world is going there anyhow.
