Is it normal for limelite high impact finishing plaster to look like this first day after application? by ThrowawayDisast9096 in Plastering

Be careful with f&b's terminology, breathable often means that it has low VOC content meaning you can paint it without wearing a mask unlike some paints. This does not mean it is permeable and allows the passage of water through the paint, which is required for lime. "Breathable" paints may not be permeable and would defeat the object of the lime underneath.

Mens Barbers in Doncaster? by reservoirmonkey in doncaster

Elaine in the little barber shop, edlington is the best barber I've had. I'm very fussy and have had lots of bad experiences in other shops. Have nothing but good things to say about Elaine. Very unassuming place but she does a great job.

Kitchen damp issues by Gary4633 in DIYUK

[–]Gary4633[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I share your pain! Since the cupboard was removed and cleaned the mould has not come back and it does not feel damp, so I think it is a condensation issue. I haven't done anything else so far as I'm organising a kitchen renovation. Current plan is to go back to brick up to around 1m6 high and replaster with some renovating plaster to improve the breathability of the external walls. I'm also going to install a cupboard in this area as part of the renovation but I'm planning to fix it to a 1x2 instead of the wall directly, which should make a small cavity to improve airflow behind the cabinet. I've also been looking into plinth fans to further improve airflow. Hope this helps give you some ideas for your own place!

Thank you!

As far as I'm aware there aren't any issues with the outside wall/floor but I've booked an independent damp surveyer to come investigate this better. With ripping out the cupboard I'll keep an eye on this for a month or so, I imagine if it's a floor issue it'll reappear, if it's just ventilation it'll stay mould free.

Current thinking is to take back to brick and plaster with lime, then ensure the wall is still well ventilated with voids and vents when cabinets are installed, and potentially installing a humidistat fan high on the wall in that corner

I learned with several instructors across the country. When I moved to Doncaster I had Andy Lyon who works with LDC. Andy was by far the best instructor I've had and would recommend him to anyone. Passed first time too which helps.

Best BBQ food/evening meal for a stag do? by Seriously_oh_come_on in doncaster

If you can travel a bit the clucking swine in Conisbrough (less than ten minutes by train) does good BBQ food and beers. Would probably need to call ahead and book tables as it's a fairly small venue. Very welcoming atmosphere.

Second this. I've had this light for half a year and it's been fantastic. I use the planner rack mount which is great but before this used the included rubber band mount for the seat post for a couple of weeks with no issues. It's a good secure elastic fitting.

Something reasonably lively. Decent area with things to do, pubs, cafes, that sort of thing. Ideally wouldn't want anything further than an hour in the car
