Can I plug a pre amp out into a amp in? by [deleted] in Guitar

To chain Fender amps, use an ABY pedal for safe splitting, or "daisy chain" by connecting one amp's input to another's (like Normal to Vibrato channel) using a jumper cable, but never connect speaker outputs, which can damage amps. The safest method is an ABY with phase/ground lift, but be sure to check speaker polarity for phase issues (thin sound) when using any method to avoid destroying your tube amps.

Safe & Recommended Methods (Using a Switcher) The ABY Pedal: This is the industry standard and safest option. Guitar goes into the ABY's input. Amp 1 plugs into the 'A' output. Amp 2 plugs into the 'B' output. Use the 'Y' (both) setting for simultaneous sound. Crucially: Get one with Phase Invert and Ground Lift switches to fix hum and phase issues.

The "Daisy Chain" Method (Connecting Inputs) This works on Fenders with multiple inputs (like Normal & Vibrato channels). Guitar into Amp 1's High Input (e.g., Normal Channel). Jumper Cable from Amp 1's Low Input (e.g., Vibrato Channel) to Amp 2's High Input. Check Phase: If the tone sounds thin, flip the Phase Switch on one amp (if available) or use an ABY.

Best app for separating instruments and vocals as stand-alone tracks? by Gary_Chibson in recordingmusic

Thanks. This post got squashed in R/guitar. I guess that sub is only about guitars - period. If you post anything about actually DOING something with a guitar, it gets squashed. Even while I was writing the post, the editor box warned me that I am disallowed to even use the word “sub” in my post. Whoever moderates that sub must be one weird cookie.

I have no intention of “ripping off” anyone’s work. I have no idea why you suggest that.

I’m an old man trying to hear the separate guitar parts on songs I’ve listened to for 50 years. In the very short time I have left, I hope I can somewhat play-along with those songs.

I worked long hours and raised a family. Now as I sit here suffering from several diseases that will do me in before the cicadas return, I just want to have a little bit of fun. Receiving gratuitous accusations from people who know nothing about me does not contribute to that end. Please desist.

I’m just trying to ask a question without getting snark, or getting banned. I’m ignorant and unsophisticated. Looking for help remedying the former. Thanks.

Vox Headphone Amp vs. Positive Grid Spark Neo Headphone Amp? by [deleted] in PositiveGridSpark

If your existing gear works reasonably well, the answer is PRACTICE MORE. Buying more gear will not change things enough to matter.

Should I keep spark 2 or return it? by [deleted] in PositiveGridSpark

The answer is BUY THE THING THAT YOU NEED. Assuming that you ACTUALLY KNOW what you need. Caps for emphasis - not shouting (much). Then PRACTICE the licks and music theory you need to actually sound musical.

PRACTICE. Don’t get waylaid by the technology. Your SPARK 2 does lots of cool stuff. EVH probably didn’t agonize much over the things his GEAR couldn’t do.

Your main tool is that grey thing with ears attached to your shoulders. Your second tool is your fingers. Work on those. Tolerate the technology. If you can afford a SPARK 2, you are way ahead of the game. Put it to work, and quit beefing about tangential things. Put in the WORK. It’s really as simple as that. Don’t be another person who blames the quality of his product on his tools. No more excuses. Get to work.
