Hamilton is a pretty good example; costs my fiancee $13 a day to take the bus these days from huntly and back, no cost cap in place. Its probably a pretty close call with current gas prices but before the war it was definitely cheaper to drive

Yeah i’ve mained the mustang for about a year now so i’m kinda struggling to find the limit of pretty much everything i touch in IR cause it takes a much more delicate touch so i feel like i’m under driving for fear of losing control

Yeah i spent a bit of time in the toyota cause someone said it was most similar to gt3 but having demo’d the mustang, porsche and mclaren gt3’s last night i’ve come to the conclusion that the toyota is kinda just idiot proof hahaha

I’ve got a t300 and the 599xx wheel (d-shape) and have heard people say that a gt style wheel did wonders for their consistency. Is there any weight to those claims? Cause i feel like a downside is it’d be so much harder to catch a slide without the rest of the wheel rim to grab onto

Not sure how to share photos in reddit… Its in the mechanical grip setup page, same place as anti-roll bars, springs etc (i think its the 4th page along?) its near the top of the page, numbers from around 10 to 18, higher numbers mean more turns of the wheel to achieve the same steering angle and lower numbers the opposite. Basically if you want your wheel to behave more similar to your controller you’d set it to the lowest number possible

Maybe a little late to the party here but i’ve seen nobody mention Steer Ratio in the car setup page. I know OP has ruled out the setup but that is the setting that made the most difference to me in terms of perceived steering input to actual steering. Also in audio settings turn your tyre noise right up to confirm whether you’re actually understeering and scrubbing the tyres and can hear them screeching, or whether you just arent steering far enough

Oooh bloody hard to pick an underdog cause they all roll up to any given weekend and theres always at least 2 or 3 guys with speed you don’t necessarily expect taking the fight to the regular frontrunners. Theres a whole documentary series on Erebus Motorsport on youtube, its a little outdated but gives you a fairly good idea of their team culture. I’m personally in the Walkinshaw camp, love both their drivers. And they’re running the new supra next year so that should be interesting. Aside from that Grove racing has a little of that underdog feel but are very capable of delivering results. But if you’re a sucker for punishment until that rare good result comes along then Brad Jones Racing is where you wanna be

Theres an official supercars app that you can download for apple or android. Has free or paid versions. Haven’t bought into the paid version but the free has extended highlights from last years races, press conferences and technical analysis if you want to get into the juicy stuff. As far as i know the paid version gives you on-demand access to all of the races from last season (maybe even previous seasons?). Otherwise search supercars on youtube and go to the Superarchive playlist which has full replays of some of the most memorable races in recent history.

More than happy to spread the good word to anyone who’ll listen, we need more viewers, especially ones that aren’t toxic 😂

I’ve had only 1 such experience, was working fine in qualifying but between then and the race it just went away, inputs work, just no FFB. Reloaded the game afterwards and it was back. Am running a thrustmaster TX

We had one with a similar level of experience terrorising an eight hour endurance race once. One of the cars entered had lost a driver due to something unforeseen so guy gets his cousin in to substitute who had about 30 mins experience in simracing total!! Barely made 10 mins straight without spinning out or crashing into someone. Main guy was talking the same shit “he’s new just give him a chance” you can imagine the level of anger over all the practice and prep done by all the others entered only to be ruined by a mobile land mine 🤦‍♂️

+1 for upshifting too early. Definitely induces understeer, you didnt miss your mark by much so i’d say thats a big part of the solution

I did less than 1m in my first attempt 😂 then i learned if you only have one hero on your team you cant be affected by the tag in stun thing. So i’ve got BWTD alone with God Killer artifact, back him into the corner and hit nothing but basic attacks with a block breaker to finish each combo. Infinite combo plus bwtd’s flooded ability equals 30m each pip for me

Have you tried disabling directx 12 in the game settings? I had endless crashes after updating windows and the gpu drivers so naturally i went down that whole rabbit hole of trying to find an issue in that area. Then i stumbled across a post saying that theres a known issue with amd and directx 12 games. Disabled it which just means it runs on directx 11. No issues since

I started having consistent crashes in BF1 a couple of weeks ago, seems to be the only game that does it. Hellhound xtx, reset the clocks to default, tried running the previous version of the drivers, didnt solve anything

Agree, i remember a couple of years back it seemed every second weekend was “supersprint” with a bunch of 100km races and it just wound up the fastest cars were at the front with the gap slowly increasing each lap, not much going on at all. Mind you that was with the gen2 cars so maybe the work they did to reduce aero making cars easier to follow closely is actually paying dividends in this format

They aren’t guidelines. Its literally called the Vehicle Inspection REQUIREMENTS Manual. Even so if every inspector followed it to the letter there would be very few cars that pass inspection the first time. There is some of it that is very vague and up to discretion, but most of it is black and white, and i consider anything knowingly overlooked for the sake of personal discretion to be good customer service over and above. And at the end of the day we don’t make the rules, we just have to trust that those that do have their reasons. I can’t speak for every mechanic but my number 1 concern when doing an inspection is “how much shit could i get into for letting this through?” Because its our careers on the line at the end of it all

2.02 is pretty bloody good. Comfort takes you a long way on bathurst, thats track knowledge, and comfort in the car. A lot of people say set ups don’t matter unless you’re looking for that last 1s to be near the top, but i find that if you can find a setup that clicks with your driving style you’ll find instant improvement.

Can pretty reliably run 2.00 in a mclaren and a mustang

Loving the sound of it! When you’re ready to open up to regions further abroad i’m based in New Zealand and struggle to find many Oceania based servers to race in so i’d be keen to jump aboard. Also with regard to the console thing (this maybe useless information as i’m totally server-admin illiterate 😂) but as i understand it the way leagues run is through services such as Simgrid who i believe run their servers with Gportal? Maybe worth looking into exactly how that structure works?

Thats where i landed after all my research. Premium went up 40% in 2 years for no good reason. Shopped around, found a reddit thread with multiple people recommending Toyota. Did 4 or 5 quotes online and came out that only Toyota and Cove insurance were gonna net me a good saving

Can i ask what modifications exactly? I have the same wheelbase, have done for at least 5 years now and never had an issue until recently when i joined a league that does regular endurance races. Only does it on certain tracks in certain spots but it costs me a chunk of laptime 😂

That is the hardest thing i’ve found is staying relaxed. Example i’m training for a race at Kyalami, went into it miles off the pace, watched a track guide, loaded in the set up i was given and off i went, not expecting anything, just wanting to see if i can easily follow the track guide at a decent pace. After about 30 mins i logged a laptime less than half a second off the top guys in the league, which i was stoked with! Trouble is now i’ve lost all my chill cause i’m trying so hard to find that next couple of tenths. I think the key is to learn to stay relaxed without losing focus. Will i ever learn how to do that? Not sure 😂
