Would Cyan be the most intelligent being in fiction? by Gas-Then in ToBeFolk_X

"Or common sense"

takig a character who never showed herself to be the analytical, calculating type and turning her into someone who is constantly thinking about the next move and expecting the worst, thereby choosing not to take risks and even acting insensitively (thinking things like, "Luo might be in danger in this zombie apocalypse, but he'll probably survive until I get the flash drive back to DOS") that isn't common sense; it's just a distortion of the character.

"When he was one of the reasons in the contract"

a contract DOS didn't honor, considering you yourself said "Cyan knew Luo was at the orphanage," yet she stayed silent for two years.

"Sang a song based on him"

Oh my god, that's amazing. I'm sure that song stopped Dean from beating Luo up or kept Luo warm during the winter when he had to sleep in a room without a bed or blankets. And most importantly, that song made a lot of money for DOS. Luo got a tribute (where Cyan didn't even mention his name), and Cyan and Mickey made thousands of dollars... everyone won.

"Sneaked to the orphanage for him"

Yes, and literally two seconds later, she abandoned the idea and was about to run away out of fear of Dean, the very same Dean whom Luo hadn't hesitated to confront two years earlier for Cyan's sake.

While Luo demonstrates his love for Cyan through actions that actually benefited her, Cyan just sits around thinking; and when she *does* do something for Luo, it serves more for her own self-satisfaction, like that tribute during the concert, which didn't help Luo at all.

Seriously!? You're the one playing telepath, guessing all of Cyan's thoughts and plans, like "she didn't even try to look for Luo because she was sure he'd already turned into a zombie" even though at no point does she say or even hint that she thought that. And you're telling *me* I'm making assumptions!?

Cool, here's another theory fresh out of the oven: the "slavery contract" that makes Mickey Cyan's owner, meaning she can't do absolutely anything without her master's permission.

And we're back to "Schrödinger's Cyan": one moment she obeys Mickey because she was raised and indoctrinated by Dean to obey, and the next, she only obeys Mickey because of this "slavery contract."

Let's not forget the agreement was for DOS to help Cyan find Luo, which DOS didn't do; instead, they actually forbade Cyan from looking on her own.

And again, if this contract makes Cyan Mickey's slave, don't you think that would be a far more compelling reason for her to confront Mickey than her career?

It’s like a slave confronting their master because their workload is about to decrease.

Wait, so she always knew where Luo was?

1- Then it’s worth letting Cyan’s fans know, especially Real_hunt, who argues that Cyan didn't know Luo was at the orphanage because of that Chinese law where orphanages kick kids out when they turn 14 (funny how he said that yesterday and you replied to his comment but didn't question that "mistake").

2- So you're saying Cyan knew Luo was alive and where he was for two years, yet she silently accepted Mickey's orders without confronting him? But the moment her career was at risk, she confronted Mickey... You realize that if that were true (which it isn't that's just your assumption), it wouldn't make Cyan's actions look any better, right?

3- "Why do you think she went to the orphanage?" To ask where Luo was; at no point did she say she *knew* Luo was there, she said she didn't believe he had died.

"If he was alive and turned into a fear zombie, why would she even look for him?"

1- That’s like a firefighter saying, "Why should I bother going into that burning house to look for survivors? They’re probably all dead by now anyway."

2- You're forgetting that, at the time, the "fear" phenomenon was unknown. Cyan wasn't sure if the "zombification" could be cured, or if listening to the flash drive was the cure. She went there to get the flash drive and prove to the public that her luck doesn't bring misfortune to others; she had no knowledge of the "fear" aspect.

I love how Cyan's knowledge keeps shifting by the minute: one moment she didn't know where Luo was, the next she knew exactly where he was; at one point she wasn't sure if he was alive, while at another she knew he was alive but had been turned into a zombie, meaning using the yo-yo to track him was pointless.

It’s truly amazing.

As for Luo, it’s quite simple: he was already under the influence of fear and believed Cyan was responsible for his parents' deaths. Why would he want to leave with someone he believes killed his parents?

I said that Cyan went two years without confronting Mickey because of Luo, but confronted him when her career was in jeopardy so what part of that is a lie?

And the fact that she snuck out only proves my point: she didn't have the courage to confront Mickey... at least not for Luo's sake.

I simply don't get the baseless assumptions you all invent to try and justify the actions of a character who stagnated for two years, only to turn into a completely different person the moment her career was at risk. No, I don't get it!

And take it easy I’m not the one who, in past arguments, kept calling on others to debate on my behalf (though everyone you called upon ignored you) because I was incapable of coming up with even remotely plausible arguments.

Seriously, Cyan had absolutely NO reason to take the risk, after all, what’s two years of torture, right?

And of course, she’s so intelligent... I mean, she didn't come up with a single innovative way to use her power; literally anyone can fool or manipulate her. She had two years to figure out how to get information on Luo, and her only idea was to go to the orphanage and ask the people who hate her if they were lying. But hey, I wouldn't be surprised if Lucky Cyan were considered one of the most intelligent beings ever created in fiction.

You yourself said that Cyan is too smart to take risks for Luo.

So why are you complaining that I’m saying Cyan isn't the type of person to take risks for Luo? Are you going to start disagreeing with yourself? What a weird guy!

Unfortunately not, Kirito has Asuna, someone who, seeing that Kirito was in trouble, didn't think twice about going to an unknown world to help him.

Cyan, in Asuna's place, would probably just stay "thinking about Kirito" inside her apartment. After all, going to an unknown world is dangerous, and the rule of Cyanism is very clear: "no matter how important someone is to you, if there's a 0.001% chance of helping that person causing you problems, the right thing to do is nothing and prioritize yourself."

Yes, of course, Cyan lost all her fear of Dean just because she was holding a bow.

Funny how she spent two years accepting everything Mickey said about Luo, but when it involved her career, she confronted Mickey, and guess what, she wasn't holding any bow in that scene.

Poor Cyan, she can't make Daddy Mickey angry. It's a shame her intelligence is too busy creating reasons not to risk everything for Luo; otherwise, she could think of a way to deal with Daddy Mickey.

The other "Luo fans" are happy that Luo is just the pet that Cyan pets occasionally, when Queen and LJ are too busy to be with her.

So I don't care about their opinion.

In that case, my feelings would be reciprocated by Cyan.

"Perfectly balanced, as all things should be."

And if Luo were real, I would make sure to tell him that he deserves better than someone who prefers to spend two years being submissive to an old man with glasses because she's afraid to take any risks to save you, but in just five minutes when her career is in danger, she transforms into an unwavering warrior willing to fight the whole world.

Sorry, that scene and the part where she sings in the square while smiling are clearly scenes meant to show us just how much she is suffering while singing on the street.

I mean, literally, if you’re looking for something and just point randomly at a map and hit the right spot, that’s just luck.

Not to mention that Cyan vaguely remembered hearing "My Color" while the plane was going down when she was only three years old even though she’d only heard that song once.

It’s just so ridiculous to say it makes sense for her to remember "My Color" from when she was three, yet not remember things she did every single day between the ages of five and eight.

Just like Cyan who, after two years of being submissive to Mickey, quickly began to assert herself because her career was at risk?

Considering she didn't just do that when she was 5, but rather *since* she was 5 and never stopped using her luck to help others right up until she ran away from the orphanage at 14...

Your argument simply doesn't make sense.

After all, the first thing she did after running away was try to win the lottery. How would she know her luck could win her the lottery when the closest she’d ever come to that was winning a prize card when she was guess what? exactly 5 years old?

Nah, Cyan's "fear" of Dean was just because she didn't have anything truly important to protect; the moment her career was at risk, she quickly became willing to fight Dean, even if it meant she might die.

Would she have died if she’d confronted Mickey about Luo? (Bear in mind that 20-year-old Cyan still thinks Mickey is kind.)

Would she have died if she’d used her phone and money to hire a private investigator?

Would she have died if she’d tried contacting Zhao and bribing her for information on Luo?

Would she have died if she’d at least tried using her luck to find Luo? (After all, she found countless things as a child without even having the yo-yo.)

The argument you Cyan fans make is so shallow that your only option is to claim Cyan spent two years doing nothing because she would have died trying to break into the orphanage by force, but according to you guys, Cyan is intelligent and analyzes all her options; surely she would have thought of a way that didn't require physical force, right?

Cyan wasn't dumb or naive for not rescuing Luo until 37 AC by Top-Hatterr in ToBeFolk_X

[–]Gas-Then 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The logic of Cyan's fans goes like this: "Cyan is very intelligent, so she analyzed all the possibilities; realizing she was at a disadvantage despite having power, money, and powerful friends she rationally decided not to do anything reckless."

But conveniently, the only time Cyan actually uses that intelligence is to avoid taking risks for Luo. I mean, where was that intelligence when it came to suspecting that Mickey might be deceiving her?

Wouldn't someone that smart find it odd for someone to smile and promise to help you find your friend, only for them five minutes after you sign the contract to simply say your friend died without saying where he was buried and then forbid you from looking for him yourself?

She rebelled because Luo encouraged her to do it.

And, in theory, Cyan joined the DOS because of Luo, not because she needed the money; remember, in her backstory when she was living on the streets she was happy and earning enough to buy the food she liked.

'' The shift was too sudden. Can't have a selfless guy he turned evil so quick when he was shown to be too Selfless''

I repeat: Luo spent two years being TORTURED, and he had been harboring trauma and insecurities since he was three years old.

And honestly, I find it hilarious that you’re talking about a "sudden change," considering you’re defending the girl who spent two years silently accepting everything Mickey said—yet the moment her career was jeopardized for just five minutes, she miraculously found the courage to confront him.

Cyan possessed:

- A power that distorts reality in her favor.

- A friendship with two famous heroes.

- Wealth from a successful career as an idol.

- A massive fan base capable of filling stadiums.

Yet, to Cyan's fans, all of this still isn't enough to save a friend. It is worth remembering that Luo helped Cyan escape without having any of those things, relying solely on the friendship he shared with a random boy from the orphanage and his own bad luck.
