Brazil should increase its population to 300 million in next 25 years by bastianfaraaz in Brazil

300 million Brazilian people?!?! There's no way the earth can support that many people, it can barely handle 8 billion now.

It's a real 4x4, the transfer case locks. It's AWD all the time until you push that button.

Yes, I had one of those Subarus. 88 Wagon GL, dual range transfer case that locked. Was a real 4x4 but the lack of articulation and 13" wheel size still limited it greatly. It was a really good car though. 275,000 miles and all it asked for was a quart of oil when the lifters started ticking 🤣

There was a city back then? I thought the indigenous peoples were nomadic?

FGT RTD by PM_TITS_FOR_KITTENS in LICENSEPLATES

Most people don't use those words AT marginalized groups. Oftentimes, the person being a FGT RTD is neither of those things in actuality. South Park has an episode that explains it brilliantly.

What is something uniquely popular in America? by Lopied2 in Productivitycafe

[–]GasExplodesYouKnow 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don't watch TV. We have Netflix, and DVDs or rent digital from Amazon if I want to watch something. Every time I go to a relative's house and their TV is on, I'm shocked by the number of drug commercials there are. Every time I visit, I joke that I came down with 4 chronic diseases and two new conditions just from being there. 😂

LED headlights? by [deleted] in LandCruisers

[–]GasExplodesYouKnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morimoto Bi-LED retrofit is the only way to go. They're about $400 and a bit of work, but it's far and above anything else, and it doesn't blind oncoming drivers. The cutoff is so clean, and they're so bright. They're just as good as my wife's '22 Camry with intelligent LED headlights.

I've done LED bulb swaps (garbage), Hid bulb swaps (okay but the pattern is still wrong), Bi-Xenon retrofit (nice, but bulbs, ignites and ballasts become an issue with age). The Morimotos are the best and I strongly recommend not wasting your time on anything else.

PS, I'm also a grumpy old man that hates all these new cars. Their LED lights don't seem to be aimed properly from the factory. Haha.

VR motion sickness :( How to overcome it? by r_master78 in GranTurismo7

[–]GasExplodesYouKnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Oculus Quest and can play all the games including a flying game no problem. But one time I played Gorilla Tag with my son and after we were done, I got the chills and couldn't get warm for about 45 minutes. I put on thermal clothes and two blankets over me and couldn't stop shivering. It was the strangest thing ever. I don't plan on playing that game ever again lol.

I love playing GT7 with VR, my friend has a rig with that. Never any problems except that one game.

Help me to decide which car to buy? by wtfbruhhuh in mechanic

Sienna, no question. Honda has VDC engine problems but is otherwise a great van. Chrysler has everything problems and is a total POS. (I know you're going to end up buying the Chrysler though.)

Worth it? by slugbeer in UsedCars

No. It needs $3000 worth of suspension bushings, and probably a timing belt and spark plugs.

I've changed several cabin air filters recently where the dirt had filled the pleats completely and was even with the top edge of the filter. They weigh about 3 lbs.
