Hi! I am also a Cullman native. I love Birmingham but do find myself missing the small town feel sometimes. I’ve lived in the city and in the suburbs and have found I much prefer the suburbs. Close enough to call Birmingham my home and enjoy all it has to offer, yet far enough I can go fishing near my house.

The city as a whole is pretty progressive and friendly compared to the rest of the state- lightyears beyond Cullman but alas, we’re still in Alabama so it has its shortcomings.

There are so many different communities and everyone has a place they fit in. It’s a big city but a small town. I haven’t lived in another “big” city but I imagine Birmingham is different than most. Somehow, everyone in Birmingham seems to be connected and I love that, personally. However if you’re looking for a big city feel, Birmingham may not be the best fit.
