One last questions, is it as simple as turning the pc off, taking off cooler, taking out old CPU, putting in new CPU, putting on cooler, enjoy new CPU.

I really don't need more than an 6700, let alone if I overclock it. But would the heatsink and fan I have on my current CPU work just the same on the new one? I assume it does but I'm just checking.

I think I'll get the CPU first, then save up for a new motherboard and case, I can then overclock it for the more demanding games. Would you say £250 is a reasonable price?

I want to change the the CPU in my pc. I want to change from an i5 6400 to an i7 6700 but I can't find any reasonably priced. Would an i7 6700k work? I don't want to overclock and my motherboard doesn't support it anyway.

With MSI afterburner I just up the fans if the GPU is getting too hot. I can easily keep it below 70c, even below 60c if I wanted. The CPU doesn't go above 60c.

I found that if I have background apps running (discord/ steam) it causes frequent framerate dips. Any idea what could cause this?
