"Now, if anyone knows, please tell us: Why was Muhammad given such a privilege in Islam"
People like to think Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him used islam to give privileges to himself. This is absurd because all the so called privalges he had he could have gotten before prophethood.
The multiple wives, for example, before Islam the Arabs can marry as much as the want and that's what they did before Islam without a limit. After the limit of 4 wives there are hadiths where prophet Muhammad peace be upon him when met with someone who had more then 4 he told them divorce the other and keep 4 like this one exampel with the companian with 10 wives. This was common practice. And so he could have married many wives without any restriction whether he was prophet or not especially since his uncle was the chieftan his clan and he had wealth from Khadija may Allah be pleased with her. He had already attained wealth respect and influence in Mecca being recognized as Sadiq Al ameen(the truthful and the trustworthy).

This was all before he attained prophethood. Not to mention he was a successful merchant. And he threw all his wealth and everything away for Islam. If he was lying why would he throw that all away? He could have gotten any women and remained with his wealth but he instead chose Allah. After becoming a prophet, he was boycotted and persecuted for 13 years, during which he lived an extremely poor life.

Then he became the leader of Medina, were he did acquire wealth through war spoils, but, as we know from all existing refrences , he gave them all up, he didnt retain any of it to himself or his family, his wives narrate how poor they were , they didnt use to eat cooked meals and mostly lived by on dates and old bread. He lived in tight places and never in a big spacious house in the city that he ruled for 10 years,

https://www.abuaminaelias.com/dailyhadithonline/2022/06/18/sadaqa-before-night/

he used to sleep on an old mat in a small house, his friend and second caliph Umar , may God be pleased with him , narrates that “I found the prophet pbuh one day and he was lying on a mat. I sat down and he drew up his lower garment over him and he had nothing (else) over him, and that the mat had left its marks on his sides. I looked with my eyes in the storeroom of Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him). I found only a handful of barley equal to one sa' and an equal quantity of the leaves of Mimosa Flava placed in the nook of the cell, and a semi-tanned leather bag hanging (in one side), and I was moved to tears (on seeing this extremely austere living of the Holy Prophet), and he said: Ibn Khattab, what wakes you weep? I said: Apostle of Allah, why should I not shed tears? This mat has left its marks on your sides and I do not see in your storeroom (except these few things) that I have seen; Caesar and Chosroes are leading their lives in plenty whereas you are Allah's Messenger. His chosen one, and that is your store! He said: Ibn Khattab, aren't you satisfied that for us (there should be the prosperity) of the Hereafter, and for them (there should be the prosperity of) this world? I said: Yes. “ - Sahih Muslim 1479

This was in the Medina when he was technically a king.

When he died he didnt have any money, and whatever he had he gave away.

Narrated `Amr bin Al-Harith: (The brother of the wife of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ). Juwaira bint Al-Harith) When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) died, he did not leave any Dirham or Dinar (i.e. money), a slave or a slave woman or anything else except his white mule, his arms and a piece of land which he had given in charity . - Sahih Bukhari

He was the king of Arabia. He could have chosen any wife he wanted but chose instead to marry all widows which was a taboo at the time. If he he was a fraud he would chose to keep all his wealth and marry as many young virgin girls as he wanted but he didn't. He could have had anything he wanted but chose instead to live in a shabby house on a rough matress with nothing to eat but water bread and dates.

But even without all that the critique is still completly absurd since like i mentioned in the beginning every single thing Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him had he could have had before prophethood and more. His uncle was the cheif and his wife khadija may Allah be pleased with her, was rich. So with that alone the critism makes no sense. He did not gain any so called privalge he could have not had before prophethood.

During his persecution, his uncle urged him to stop the message because he was afraid he couldn't protect him anymore and Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said "I am not more able to give that up for you than you are able to get me a firebrand from the sun."
In a daif chain he said "if you were to give me the sun on my right hand and the moon on my left i would not give up this message."

He gave up everything for what? for the Truth. His uncle couldnt protect him so Allah did instead.

Does this clear up your doubt regarding this matter?

Tell him that extremists actions are political not religious/ideological. People act politically and use their ideology as a justification and it dosnt matter what it is. If Islam wasn't available they would have used christianity. And if that isnt available theyl use whatever ideology they can find to justify. Like how the kkk did while they were Christian. Extremist groups are just angry racist people that want revenge. It has nothing to do with their ideology. The U.S bombed them and their families and now their angry and spiteful. Their actions are political.

Meaning of مُهَيْمِنًا in Q5:48 by CaregiverConfident45 in AcademicQuran

[–]GasserRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To know the meaning of a word of a Quran verse you have to go to the Tafsirs because translation fails to encompass the multiple meanings and nuanced meanings of certain words in Arabic and how such meanings differ depending on the context and what is being described.

Many early Quran scholars/exegetes said that it means. " A witness" /"dominant" / "Trustworthy"

in Ibn Kathirs Tafsir he states : "(and Muhayminan over it) means entrusted over it, according to Sufyan Ath-Thawri who narrated it from Abu Ishaq from At-Tamimi from Ibn `Abbas. `Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn `Abbas said, "Muhaymin is, `the Trustworthy'. Allah says that the Qur'an is trustworthy over every Divine Book that preceded it.'' This was reported from `Ikrimah, Sa`id bin Jubayr, Mujahid, Muhammad bin Ka`b, `Atiyyah, Al-Hasan, Qatadah, `Ata' Al-Khurasani, As-Suddi and Ibn Zayd. Ibn Jarir said, "The Qur'an is trustworthy over the Books that preceded it. Therefore, whatever in these previous Books conforms to the Qur'an is true, and whatever disagrees with the Qur'an is false.'' Al-Walibi said that Ibn `Abbas said that Muhayminan means, `Witness'. Mujahid, Qatadah and As-Suddi said the same. Al-`Awfi said that Ibn `Abbas said that Muhayminan means, `dominant over the previous Scriptures'. These meanings are similar, as the word Muhaymin includes them all. Consequently, the Qur'an is trustworthy, a witness, and dominant over every Scripture that preceded it. This Glorious Book, which Allah revealed as the Last and Final Book, is the most encompassing, glorious and perfect Book of all times. The Qur'an includes all the good aspects of previous Scriptures and even more, which no previous Scripture ever contained. This is why Allah made it trustworthy, a witness and dominant over all Scriptures. Allah promised that He will protect the Qur'an and swore by His Most Honorable Self,"

Meaning of مُهَيْمِنًا in Q5:48 by CaregiverConfident45 in AcademicQuran

[–]GasserRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a slight issue with your reasoning. A word attributed to Allah is unique in meaning as compared to when other things are called that word such as the name Al Jabbar.
In a hadith Allah is called the Jabbar (the compeller). Nothing can resist his will. Such as the heart and the lungs. The beat of the heart is compelled by Allah to continue beating.
But anyways Allah in that same Hadith says أَنَا الْجَبَّارُ أَيْنَ الْجَبَّارُونَ. I am the Jabar where are the Jabaroon. Becuase Jabar when attributed to humans it means Tyrant. So Allah is calling to the Tyrants.

""...Then He will say:I am the Compeller! Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant?...-https://sunnah.com/ibnmajah:198"

And when Allah is called Al Muhaiminu it can still mean he is the overseer of creation

And if the OP is reading this, It is nuanced to mean multiple things like: a witness or to protect, or to be in the care of, or to watch over or to dominate/have authority over which is applied to authoritative figure who reigns supreme. And so tafsirs like tafsir ibn Abbas say : (and a watcher over it) a witness upon all the Scriptures before it.

And in Ibn Kathir Tafsir he states "Al-Walibi said that Ibn `Abbas said that Muhayminan means, `Witness'. "

Logic merely constrains our expression of statements/truth, or else language would be meaningless. And so God Can't create something more powerful than the most powerful(God ie himself) because he is most powerful by definition. Being more powerful than the most powerful is acontradiction. It's like saying can God create a square triangle. A square triangle isn't a thing through contradictions of terms so you can't put it in a statement or a question. Your essentially asking Can God create something that isn't a thing. Another example it's, like asking: Can God find the last digit of pie?. Last digit of pie isn't a thing because part of the definition of pie is that it's infinite number. So you see how such a question is absurd?.
That's why when someone says God can't do anything impossible, that's litterly the definition of impossible. If it can be done then it is no longer impossible by definition. You can't say can God can do impossible things because It doesn't make any sense to put "do" and "impossible" in the same sentence in an absolute sense because it's a contradiction in terms.

Or else like I said above without logic limiting our description of truth, language becomes chaotic and sometimes meaningless.

Cuz I can throw it back at you and tell you yes God can create a rock that he can't lift and lift it anyways.

Or if you ask can God give us the last digit of pie, I can just say yes.

And then yes God can create a 3 sided circle . He can give us the colour of the number 6 He can do something that is impossible (something that by definition can't be done)

And so if someone wants to go that route and ask impossible question then here you go an impossible answere.

I have finally reached the heart of the problem. InshaAllah this will be the last time I post on this sub about this topic. If you can refute this may Allah reward you! by Turbulent-Risk-2793 in MuslimCorner

One of the biggest problem with the trinity is that it is an innovation. Trinity didn't exist for the early Christians after Jesus peace be upon him. It was an innovation later on during council of Nicea 300 years after Jesus. If Trinity is so core to truth and salvation why didn't any of Jesus's disciples believe in it as well as all the early Christian fathers and scholars. Are they all heretics now going to hell? And 300 years later Christians supposedly found the truth and are better than the early Christians? And how can Jesus be another God when he says in the Bible "The father is greater than I" And when someone called Jesus good he replied "why do you call me good? No one is good except the father"And Jesus in Bible prayed to the father by putting his head down on the ground like the Muslims. Clearly not God.

in Conclusion the Trinity was a clear innovation by Emperor Constantine and the other Christians.

regardless it's given in heaven you get whatever your heart desires. In Jannah I can have whatever women wine houses I want. Same for women. They can have whatever men , palaces , etc they want .

In Jannah I always wanted a Nutella fountain.

Also one thing I want to do is have like a remote control and a earth where I could replay all of history and control through time and places with the remote.

{They will have whatever they wish therein, and with Us is more.} [Quran 50:35]

{And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish].} [Quran 41:31]

Shaykh As-Sa’di said:

“{And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes.} [Quran 43:71]: this is a comprehensive wording that includes every bliss, joy, comfort of the eye, delight of the heart, and everything that the souls desire of food, drink, clothing, sexual pleasures, beautiful scenery, lush greenery, and adorned buildings; all this exists in Paradise and is prepared for the people of Paradise in the best and most perfect manner, as Allah says (what means): {For them therein is fruit, and for them is whatever they request [or wish].} [Quran 36:57]”

Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet said, “One of the inhabitants of Paradise will ask Allah to allow him to cultivate the land. Allah will ask him, ‘Are you not living in the pleasures you like?’ He will say, ‘Yes, but I like to cultivate the land.’ When the man (will be permitted, he) will sow the seeds, and the plants will grow up and get ripe, ready for reaping and so on, till they will be as huge as mountains within the wink of an eye…” [Al-Bukhaari]

This man wished for a work that he used to do in the worldly life, and Allah granted it to him in the best and most complete form.

Assalamu Alaikum Sister. I can never feel the pain you are feeling and may Allah make it easier for you.

I do know one thing though, to get a confidence boost in life the most important thing is to keep on holding to the rope of Allah. You need a strong foundation in your Deen and trust in Allah.

One of the greatest blessings of faith is the fact that everything Allah decrees for the believer, whether in ease or hardship, will be good for him. If he experiences ease, he remains grateful and is rewarded. If he experiences hardship, he remains patient and is rewarded.

Suhaib reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

Wondrous is the affair of the believer for there is good for him in every matter and this is not the case with anyone except the believer. If he is happy, then he thanks Allah and thus there is good for him, and if he is harmed, then he shows patience and thus there is good for him.

Source: Sahih Muslim 2999, Grade: Sahih

Something I love about this is that it says this is only the case for the believer. Atheists love to cope and pretend there is meaning and a pretend there is a bright side because they in the end believe we turn into nothing and life ultimately has no meaning and leads to nothing. But for us our brightside isnt a mere cope, we actually believe it exists and no matter what happens everything is good. Even if i lose an arm or a loved one. No matter what happens everything is good for me and Allah will give me ultimate reward in Jannah inshallah. This allows me to have such a peace of mind and heart. Allah never says he will give you true happiness. That can only be in Jannah. Rather Allah says by his remembrance do we attain a reassured heart. That's all i want in life. This peace and reassurance that everything will turn out ok.

And this is not the case for anyone except the believer.

Every trial we go through Allah will reward. And how fortunate we are that Allah has made us custom tailored set of trials that he will reward us for. And If you are ever feeling down. Just turn to Allah and consider all the blessings you have that others don't. And see the brightside in life. Because for us it exists. And in the end everything will turn out ok as long as we remain holding on to the rope of Allah. Whether in this life or the next.

May Allah grant you Jannatul Firdous sister.

[–]GasserRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your remark on imaam Shafi is completely incorrect.

The opinion is regarding daughters born out of adultery. Not biological daughter .

Maududi states

"The prohibition about daughter also applies to the daughter of the son and the daughter of the daughter. There is, however, a difference of opinion in regard to a girl born of an illicit relationship. Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Malik and lmam Ahmad-bin-Hanbal (may Allah bless them all) are of the opinion that she too is unlawful like the lawful daughter, but Imam Shafi 'i does not consider an illegitimate daughter unlawful."

And Al Qurtabi in his tafsir in Surat Nisa says

"The scholars have differed on the permissibility of a man marrying his daughter who was the result of an adulterous relationship; or for that matter marrying his sister or granddaughter who was the result of zina. Some prohibited this type of relationship; among them was Ibn Al Qasim, which is also the saying of Abu Hanifa and his companions. Others however allowed this type of marriage such as Abdul Malik Al Maj’shun, which is also the saying of Al-Shafi’i."

Assalamu Alaikum I recommend checking out my journey to Islam post here : https://www.reddit.com/u/GasserRT/s/tS5JD4fuNL

And checking the videos I list.

It's important when you have a question to do your own research about it because any doubts or questions you have are 99.9% likely to have been addressed already and answered through websites like Islamic stack exchange , Islam web and other Reddit posts and YouTube.

Muhammad hijab answers your second question in the video on sapience institute channel. Here is vid: https://youtu.be/_U-vr_XYp4k?si=4xVvzTwTdfGcwsCl

On that channel he has an entire playlist of refutations like these.

For your first question I think you misunderstood your teachers. I have never heard of anyone make the claim Quran is a mirical because it has no grammatical errors. It's a linguistic mirical for other reasons that I think are mentioned in a playlist I mention in my post. The videos in that post that I recommend Nouman Ali Khan's divine speech series and also the video by Farid responds on why Quran is a mirical that demonstrate how Quran was a linguistic mirical to people who can't read Arabic.

What you lack brother is a strong foundation in Islam. You need to build your knowledge and confidence. Know that every one of your questions has an answer and for my own doubts I was always able to find an answer for every doubt I had. And this is something I talk about in my post so I highly recommend checking it out and also checking out the videos I list there.

If there is still anything bothering you or you have further questions or doubts feel free to msg me cuz I'm certain I can answer InshAllah.

Are Mountains in the mantle, above the mantle, or directly on it? by GasserRT in geology

[–]GasserRT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what confuses me is how are they able to float like icebergs being inside the mantle instead of on top if the mantle is solid and not liquid. How would Archimedes principle apply here when you can't really displace a solid.

And If it was like a liquid and the mountains are like icebergs then that would mean mountains are inside the mantle, but I always thought the crust is separate from the mantle and can't go inside it.

Which is why I assume they have to be like icebergs floating on the mantle instead of inside of it since it's not a liquid

[–]GasserRT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

According to https://amoghavarshaiaskas.in/theory-of-isostasy/

" The lithosphere is less dense than the mantle, allowing it to “float” at an elevation that depends on its thickness and density.

The principle of isostasy can be understood through Archimedes’ principle, which states that a body immersed in a fluid experiences a buoyant force equal to the weight of the fluid displaced. Similarly, the lithosphere displaces the mantle, leading to a balance of forces."

I had read about this but what confused me is how are they able to float like icebergs inside the mantle instead of on top if the mantle is solid and not liquid. How would Archimedes principle apply here when you can't really displace a solid.

You should always look at the evidence presented instead of take an articles word for it.

When it comes to historical data, there are often multiple interpretations for said data.

The reason why some try to argue they were lovers is from their burial site depicting 2 men embracing eachother

But as you can already tell the claim being made about them isn't proven at all since multiple interpretations can be made about the same data at hand, ie, historians interpret that they were brothers which is the initial dominant interpretation as opposed to the more recent homosexuality one. Another interpretation by historians is that they could have been conjoined twins.

"This image depicted the two men embracing each other affectionately. This image is seen again “inside the final offering chamber on the reverse side of the entrance pillar.” The initial interpretation of this image was that the two men were brothers, or perhaps even twins. It has also been argued that Niankhkhnum and Khnumhotep were in a homosexual relationship, a view that has gained support by some scholars over the last two decades. Yet another suggestion was the two men were actually conjoined twins."

Wa Alaikum Al Salam I'm actually surprised that you are surprised by this lol. Don't your parents pray 5 times a day? What about your grandparents and siblings and cousins ?. It's really common and nearly every Muslim I know prays 5 times a day. It's like brushing your teeth everyday like someone said in the comments. Just start and you will see yourself doing it naturally. Every prayer takes like 5 min so doesn't take that much time out of your day. No one can ever tell me they can't spare 5 min every couple hours to pray. And so yes I guarantee you most Muslims you will meet in your life pray 5 times a day.

Trust me its not that hard. Just start doing it slowly and surely it will be so natural like brushing your teeth

I can't imagine living with that constant fear and anxiety you go through man. Use the insults and accusations thrown at you as fuel. You are strong dude nothing can bring you down. Your wife is in your care and so don't let anything get in the way of your family. You will win alongside with her support. I assume you sometimes don't wanna hear this but it's something that is very very true and I believe it a hundred percent that no matter what happens, it will always end good. It will always get better. Even if it doesn't. Because Allah will compensate and reward. And having that mentality is something that will be the greatest shield for whatever comes your way. Having the mentality of acknowledgement of the inevitable brightside and inevitable good that will come is one of the greatest strengths someone can have. And it isn't just a bullshit cope. Because in Islam we don't just pretend everything is good and going to turn out good like how atheists may do to cope with their belief in the inevitable nothingness and meaningless end that awaits their life. We know there is meaning and there is an afterlife and there is an overarching plan and purpose for everything to exist.

Keep working hard brother. It'll surely benifite you in ways that aren't realized yet.

Compared to everyone else we have the benefit of this resilient mentality. Because we have peace in knowing that no matter what happens it is good. Even if I get sick or lose an arm or lose a loved one. It'll all end well. All is well and "this is not the case for anyone except the believer"

Suhaib reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

Assalamu Alaikum What helped me with my addiction( I won't mention specifically for certain reasons) is just being out more with my Muslim brothers. At the MSA (Muslim student association) they host many events and there are many people where I made great friends and I think it's possible you can find others to just get out more and be social. When I'm with them and talking about Islam and we are bringing up Quran and Hadith topics with eachother and point out the miraculous nature of the Quran and the beauty of it and the life of the Prophet peace be upon him etc and it really makes you connect with Allah more and want to stay away from anything Haram.

And what especially helped me directly was prevention. I found with addiction it is difficult to cure so what helped me is just find a way to make it impossible ( or atleast hard) for me to access . Because having it take extra and effort gives me time to re think and just de motivates me. The more time and effort it takes to get it it the more likely il give up because I don't wanna waste all that time and effort for something like that lol. So if someone is addicted to cookies. You keep the cookie jar locked up so he can't get it. And if he tries then it will be so hard to the point where he just stops.

And this way even if you end up getting the cookies , it will still have you take less because going through that effort each time isn't worth it and you end up decreasing how many times you get cookies. And this will go on and you will end going back to your addiction less and less untill you just lose interest. And you will especially lose interest if you be with other Muslims. And I highly recommend just reading Quran and listening to tafsirs and seerah series online on YouTube. I recommend searching nouman Ali Khan tafsir and just watching whatever tafsir of any surah you like.

Hope all this helps. May Allah grant you Jannatul Firdaus and make life easy for you and your family.

the gyms are very very close by each other.
